March Wrap-up & April TBR

March was an interesting one. Not bad but not really too memorable. But I felt more productive than prior months, so I’m taking it as winnnnnnnnnn.

Summary

I feel like all of these months are just blurring together now, and I just keep going eh?? EH?? There were a few highs at least? I think???

The Highs

39983680Geekerella and That’s Not What I Heard were definitely the highs. They are both adorable, fluffy contemporaries, so I’m finally getting back into my contemporary grooveeeeeeeee. I thought it was lost, but now, I’m backkkk. The Princess and the Fangirl was another good read, and I did enjoy the fluff and it had such an amazing setting. In the Neighborhood of True was the last read that I had for the month, and it ended on a pretty good note.

The Lows

40944082Well, there was a lot of lows but mostly mehs. The biggest low was the The Last Voyage of Poe Blythe by Ally Condie. I enjoyed the buddy read aspect of it, but that was not enough for me to definitely take my last voyage with Ally Condie. Two Can Keep a Secret was not the goodness either.

The rest of the books definitely teetered around between 2s and 3s. IT WAS JUST A REALLY MEH MONTH. Tbh, I forgot that I read most of these, so that shows you.

Other BPR Activities

Sha and I participated in Women’s Reading Month hosted by Margaret @ Weird Zeal. It was a fabulous readathon with prompts based on all the epic leading ladies out there – character and writing wise both. I finished 11 of the 16 prompts, so I’m feeling decently impressed with myself.

Sha and I also had a blogging event to help us get to know us a bit better. We had #MeetMeMarch, where Sha and I did our Disney zodiacs, tried to talk only in emojis, and more! They were so much fun, and this was totally all Sha’s brilliant brain child.

I also introduced a new blogging series, and ladies and gents, I AM BACK. I have done two actual blogging series posts ON TIME, and found somewhat enjoyment in them??? Like, idk who I AM but I was quite the proud of myself, since, ya know, I fail so badly on them. Hopefully you shall be seeing two Mandy Reads Fairytales posts a month. I tackled Cinderella and The Snow Queen so far.

I have also officially caught up with The Good Place, and like, I need moreeeeeeeeeeee. Omg, this show is so much goodness and I CANT. I NEED. Sha recommended that I start Brooklyn Nine Nine, and after a bit of a rocky start for me, it’s really picked up, and I think I’m on the last episode of the first season.

Also, I’m back in Buzzfeed Unsolved major vibes (um, perhaps because of a certain readathon???), and I binge watched all of the Supernatural ones that I missed. The last episode gave me CHILLS. Omigosh, so good, but so creepy. D: D: D:

Book Haul

Um, I don’t think I actually hauled anything??? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS. I DON’T KNOWWWWW. Nothing stands out for me, and I’ve been pretty chill about buying/requesting ARCs when I have ARCs and a whole bookshelf to be read.

April TBR

unsolvedathon

You can find my TBR here! Sha and I are participating in another readathon, and this one is amazinggggggggggggggggg. I WILL BE OVER HERE SCREECHING. I have 10 books for sure I’ll be reading for this readathon, but I’m trying to figure out what else I’ll be trying to read for the rest of the month. I know I’ll be hauling The Devouring Gray and you best believe I’m super pumped for that.

What do you think? What books did you read last month? Did we share any of the same? What do you plan for April? Let’s discuss in the comments below!

  1. SO. MANY. BOOKS. MANDY :OOO
I so agree about Geekerella being mega cute and adorable ❤ It wasn't this amazing read but it sure warmed my heart and even made me shed a tear or two.
The Good Place is amazing OMG!!! My boyfriend and I can't wait for the next season to drop… We are honestly addicted and I have no idea how they managed to keep the show interesting after so long – and those plot twists! Jesus.
Loved everything you guys took part in this month, you busy girls! I wish I had the time and organisation skills to do the same hahaha
    Awesome wrap-up ❤

And yesssss. It does bring the cute and adorbs for sureeeee.
AND OMG YES> especially with that endinggggggggg. Like, they constantly change the game and keep it fresh.
And yes! It honestly takes the two of us (mostly Sha) or else I would be a mess. XD Thank you, Sophie!! ❤

  2. 15 books is so impressive! And that’s amazing that you were able to complete 11 of the prompts for the WHM Reading Challenge! 😀 (Thanks so much for joining in!) That sucks that a lot of the books you read were kinda meh, though. At least you watched The Good Place! Such a good show!!! And I’m so happy that you’re enjoying B99 as well! 😀

  3. 15 BOOKS?!?!? Sheesh. I’m sorry most of them were meh though. I was super curious about Bingo Love and Serious Moonlight though.
I also really enjoy Brooklyn nine nine. It takes a bit to get used to the humor, but worth it if you like that sort of thing.

  4. 15 books??? Give me your strength! I could never dream of reading 15 books in one month, haha! 🙈 And thanks for telling us which of those books were meh – now I know to avoid them! I’ve been meaning to read Geekarella, so maybe I’ll do that soon 🙂

  6. Good luck with your TBR Mandy! The theme is such a fun idea 😀 I am curious of your review of Serious Moonlight; even thought I thought I swore off that author, I’m curious about this new one for some reason. I’m glad you also had a good wrap up as well 😀
