Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Truthfully, I can’t believe another year has come and gone. I used to think it was insane when my parents or adults would tell me as a kid, it’s just going to fly by as you get older and it’s so ridiculously true. I’m still stuck in September or something.

Anyway, first off, I want to say thank you so much to this wonderful blogging community for making 2016 a memorable one for me. This is my first year blogging, and it was so more fun thanks to all of you.  I can’t wait to see what 2017 brings to us all – especially with all the amazing books that are set to come out. I’m definitely going to be in ultra fangirl mode soon, so be prepared for lots of squealing and incoherent mumbling once some of the books start hitting shelves.

So, this is a combined kind of post. There will be 3 parts – the questions from Krysti from YAandWine, the December Wrapup, and my January TBR. If you ever want to peace out at any time throughout the post, I’ll supply you with a parachute. 😉

Krysti from YAandWine was so brilliantly nice to include me again in her questions for her Mystery Blogger Award post, and her questions were so much fun that I definitely wanted to answer them. Here are my answers to them, and please go and check her blog out because it’s pretty amazing in between the book reviews (that come complete with wonderful wine pairings), amazing information on author events and bookish items, and other general fun things.

Here were her questions:

1. If you could meet any author, who would it be and what would you say to them?

Marissa Meyer is my dream author for me, and I’m not sure I would even be able to say absolutely anything to her besides incoherently babbling. I would try and perhaps ask her, though, how she got her inspiration for her amazing books, though.

2. What bookish destination would you most want to visit?

There is one place that I loved imagining the most – it was the Ice Palace in Six of Crows. It just sounded so beautiful, and I totally would want to see just how intense it for the crew to have gotten in and robbed the place. I would definitely not like the cold as much, but I would definitely still want to visit.

3. If you could share a conversation over a glass of wine with any book character, who would it be?

Carswell Thorne from The Lunar Chronicles. That man is a dreamboat, and while we had our wine, I’m sure I would be entertained the entire time.

4. If you could live inside the fictional world of any book, which one would you choose?

Apparently, this is just a Meyer lovefest – definitely The Lunar Chronicles world after Queen Levana is gone with Kai and Cinder ruling. Can you just imagine the fun that they would have as leaders?

5. If you could get your hands on an ARC of any 2017 book, which one would it be?

Oh, gosh, there are way too many that I am obsessed with at the moment and begging to have. Caraval would definitely be a must, since I have heard nothing but good things for it. But also The Truth About Happily Ever After by Katie Cozzo sounds like two things I love – princesses and theme parks. I can’t wait to read it.

This definitely doesn’t mesh with my December TBR that I created with me only reading 5/10 books that I said I would and missing my 10 book goal by one book. I told you I always manage to get distracted by shiny new books. Overall, though, not a bad book month for me with my lowest rating going to The Lovely Reckless with a 3 crown, and my favorite book being The Haunting of Maddy Clare, which became a favorite.

And now the third part! My TBR list for January…which probably will be thrown out the window the moment that I see new pretty January books. I shall include them in there anyway, since I’ve been coveting them for months. Here is a very, very tentative plan, since I can totally see myself failing this month.
