Mini-Hiatus Sort of Explained, A Conjuring of Light, and How I’m in Deep with Book Pickiness

Well, helloooooooooooooooooooo over there. Yes, I’m still shuffling around in the book world, although it certainly doesn’t seem like it. You can’t easily get rid of this book princess…or any princess for that matter. I mean, seriously, princesses have been around for centuries. We like the crowns?

Anyway, I guess I went on a mini hiatus without really planning or knowing it. XD I kept saying, oh, I’ll go on the blog tomorrow…and then that turned into the next day…and that turned into the next day and then next thing I know I haven’t answered anyone’s comments, pingbacks, or looked at their blogs in 6 days. Oops.

So sorry if I missed any of your comments (WordPress cut me off once I hit a certain point); sorry if I totally failed in blog hopping (I tried to make a big dent in it yesterday but I know I’ve missed a lot of people’s posts – am trying to get better here); still trying to get my butt together on the that 1000 followers celebration. Thank everyone who has stuck by my book mess. 😉

I’m not sure what really happened. Maybe it was just the need to take a break (some real life stuff has me super stressed) or the fact that A Conjuring of Light has ruined meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I literally can’t even deal right now. I’m still crying that this series is over and now I’m still wandering around, trying to find a book that is even close to being somewhat as good as it (I’ve picked up 3 different books so far and nothing has come close to touching it let alone making me want to actually sit and read it).

I’m so ridiculously happy that there will be more books in this series. A fitting ending for this amazing crew, but I’m so excited to be seeing them again. This is probably going to be a short review because I don’t think I can even handle the feels and everything that was this book. Did this book feel like 624 pages? No, it felt like a whirlwind of amazingness, emotional turmoil, action packed adventure, and EVERYTHING.

If you haven’t gotten in on this series yet, you need to. I was so afraid that this series was overhyped, not interesting, or far too much for me. However, this series brought smiles to my face, exceedingly high expectations I place on world building now, and so many amazing characters who I never thought I would be so invested in. The ensemble of these books were truly amazing, and this book truly let them shine.

Do you ever read a book that truly takes thoughts and critiques out of your head? I really can’t even tell you what I love because it’s just so good. I can’t form the words to tell you that you need to read or what I thought on things because I just know it was good and my words will never be able to form that.

Ariel is feeling so much love lately. I feel like she should get frequent swimmer’s miles or something.

Yes, I did knock one crown off. Sometimes, I did feel like there were some super unnecessary portions of the novel, but I think it’s because I just wanted to go so fast in this book to find out what happened that I hated the wonderful long game characterization that Schwab added. It seems silly but I wanted to know what was happening with baby Lila and Kell instead of reading about the complexity of what Maxim was dealing with and his past. I’m sure in a reread I will appreciate it a lot more, but for the read now, I had to knock one off.

Seriously, this book was everything that I wanted it to be, and I canNOT wait to get to the new series. I never thought that my heart could be so invested in the four main characters in this book than it was the last one, but Schwab did it with ease. She is a powerhouse, and she has forever sold me on her work. Fitting end in the series, but an open door into so much more for her! Four crowns and an Ariel rating!

And now I’m stuck with tons of books that I can’t decide what to read. I’ve been dying to start Wonder Woman for months upon months and now I just sit here, quietly staring it down, hoping the A Conjuring of Light high will stop and let me just read this book. Hopefully the staring will help soon. *fingers crossed*
