The Princess Bride Book Tag

That’s right, gals and guys – I FOUND ME A PRINCESS BRIDE BOOK TAG. I am so impressed. I actually found two, so perhaps a follow up may be coming in the near future? Ugh, I love me some The Princess Bride. The wit, the humor, the deliciously quotable lines.

Check out the Book Tag here: (Yes, I actually watched a BookTube thing – I feel so proud…well, I, at least, read the description as the video was playing. That counts, right? XD).

Westley: Favorite Romantic Hero

…cough, Thorne, cough, cough. Oh swoon.

Princess Buttercup: Favorite rags to riches story

…CINDERELLA! Oh, wait, um, it has to be a book? Can I cheat and just use a book based off Cinderella now? Therefore, Geekerella! Plus, I just want to show my excitement for this epic book yet again.

Dread Pirate Roberts: fav book with pirates or one you want to read

17332631_760453877443532_1521077034544005120_n

Daughter of the Pirate King!! It’s such a wonderful book, and it totally got me hooked on pirate stories. I just want more fierce pirate ladies now, and Alosa is the fiercest.

Prince Humperdink: Villain you love to hate or one that is just funny

Frogkisser! by Garth Nix had one of the greatest hilarious villains. I literally could not take him serious like a certain prince. His evil lurking and step-stepfather status made him the perfect villain for this story.

ROUS: Best fantastical monster

AH AH AH. I can’t think of none. HELP ME. D: Can I cheat and say ROUS? They are so entertaining. XD

As you wish: A book with a sweet romance

My most adorable feely romance is always The Summer I Became a Nerd by Leah Rae Miller. So sweet, so adorable, so full of all the feels. Seriously, I will not stop recommending this book until someone else reads it and I can fangirl over it. XD

Mwarrige: Name two book characters that you ship and two that you don’t

Well, clearly, Cresswell. They are my ultimate forever ship. Recently, Feysand has gone to very HIGH heights. ACOWAR may just ruin me.

Um, Mare and whoever she was supposed to be with in Red Queen. I liked her with Maven, but I was not committed to it…and then, you know, the ending of the first book happened and I really can’t get the excitement to read the second book because I just don’t like Cal. Sooooooo, unpopular opinion there.

Fezzick, Vezzini & Montoya: Favorite book crime group

six-of-crows

…MY SIX OF CROWS BABIES. Here I thought I wouldn’t get to sneak a SOC reference and this wondrous question didn’t let me down.

Inigo Montoya: Best revenge story

one of us is lying
Credits to Delacorte Press

Errrrrr…okay, I don’t really read a lot of revenge stories, but an App full of revenge is a really important part of One of Us Is Lying by Karen McManus, which is an AMAZING novel. SO GOOD SO GOOD SO GOOD <–Which is somehow my best review ever on Goodreads. XD

Book vs Movie: Which is your favorite? Both? Why?

I feel like such a bad bookworm saying this, but movie all the way. While the book has a lot of the same elements and the best bits, it does go off on a few different tangents and made had some things in there that I just wasn’t a fan of overall. It was still an enjoyable read, but I think the movie just condenses it better and you can’t beat the acting these people did.

I wasn’t sure just who enjoyed The Princess Bride and I wasn’t actually tagged for this, so I didn’t want to tag anyone. It’s really fun, though, and if you loved The Princess Bride, it’s definitely a fun tag to do.
What do you think? What are some of your answers on this? Let’s discuss in the comments below!

      1. That is seriously no joke. I am going to buy myself a self care pack before the 2nd because I know I am going to need it. If something happens to either one of them I will be in my bed for at least a month.

      2. YES. That is such a smart idea. I need to do that too, because you’re so right. I’m also trying to prepare for the biggest book hangover ever, because I know nothing will ever compare again, I’m assuming. XD

  1. Great post Mandy! One that has too many books I haven’t read yet and now trying my best to ignore the urge to put them on my TBR list! T^T But seriously, I had fun reading this. 😀

    1. AHAHAHAHA. Awh, I’m sorry, Jannin. One day, I will have a tag that won’t tempt you…and I will find a post of yours that won’t make me super eager to read them as well. XD We’re both so mean to each other’s TBR.

  2. I just woke up so ignore my first comment ^^ love this post! Princess Bride is one of my absolute favorites so it was fun to see how you used it’s elements to show of other characters or books!! I loved DOTPK and SoC! I’m not sure how functional I’ll be after finishing ACOWAR but we will definitely see!

    1. LOL, I have so many of those comments. XD And I hate how you can’t delete anything. And YAY. I didn’t know you were a Princess Bride lover. 😀 It’s such an epic movie/book. And those books are just so amazing. I’m in such withdrawals for DOTPK. And I knowwwwww. Like, I can’t wait for it, but I feel like I don’t want to read it because my heart won’t be able to handle it?

      1. Me too! It’s going to be tough though!! Maas will be here next Tuesday and I hope to get more than “Hi” out.

      2. Haha! Thanks. I’m pretty sure Veronica Roth doesn’t think I could even talk. It was so bad and my group just giggled at me because I was so star-struck. I’m sure Krysti will be posting highlights next week so keep an eye out!

      3. Usually I have no problem talking with them because I’ve had some interaction with them on Twitter but with the bigger ones like that my brain just blanks out. Deer in the headlights!

      4. Ahhhhh gotcha. This year I’ll be going to some events for once, and I’m trying to figure out how I might react. XD But it’s good to know ahead of time that’s it not deer in the headlights. XD

      5. I’m not either but Krysti is. I’ll definitely make an effort next year though. Where are you at?

      6. Yes! Hopefully it will be a little closer to you! 😀 Do they always change it or am I thinking of a different one? Anyway, I’m over in the middle so it’s awkward and expensive to get to either of them (YALLWEST or BookCon). XD But yes! Same! They look so exciting but also so intimidating. D:

      7. It’s only about an hour and a half flight from here to L.A. where it is this year. I am not sure if it moves around or not. I know BookCon was in Chicago last year but in NYC this year. I’d love to go to that one. They look super intimidating, especially after seeing all that Krysti went through to get ready for it.

      8. I didn’t send her with any this time around. She says there is an ARC she knows I would want but she isn’t positive she’ll be able to get it for me. I told her I just expect her to have fun for me too. I know she’s got tons of stuff to get done while she is there so if she brings anything back for me it’ll be a bonus!

        Liked by 1 person

      9. I know! People probably thought Krysti just had two tags. I’m not on twitter as much either but I’m working on that. It’s all been a lot of fun!!

        Liked by 1 person

      10. Lol, yes. XD Twitter can always be interesting. I used to be a lot on there, but it can be too much sometimes. I blink and there’s 10 more tweets. XD Didn’t you have your own blog or am I imagining that?

        Liked by 1 person

      11. Exactly! It is hard to keep up with it all the time. I did. It’s still up but I haven’t posted on it since Krysti invited me to blog with her. It’s much more fun doing it with her than on my own. I’ve got so much going on it’s fun to do posts now and then rather than as much as it takes to do it. I’ll have more time in the near future though, now that I’m settled in with school I know how to prioritize my reading along with it.

      12. Ahhhh gotcha! That totally makes sense. It’s nice too because whenever you need a break, she can take over and vice versa. But that’s so nice that it’s not so much work but fun which is what it should be – I’ve had a few days like that so I can imagine the relief. 😀 But ooooh yay! That’s always the challenge of trying to figure out how to stick it in between all the course work. D: But yay for settling in! 😀

      13. Yes! I can imagine to jump right in, but it’s always so much fun to read your posts because it’s cool to see the different perspectives. And I totally used to think that I couldn’t read and do school at the same time so it literally took me four months to get through one book one time, so you’re doing so much better with me with the school. XD

      14. I’m glad you can see he different perspectives and we have different writing styles for sure! She’s helping me to be more creative than I though I ever could be! Self paced schooling is really helping me with that. I can’t believe how much I’ve been able to read while being back in school.

      15. Oooh, yeah! Bouncing off ideas is super cool as well. I always find it’s so much easier to be creative with it. And oooh, that is nicer. It always seem that school has this myth of no fun reading time, but it is amazing how much you can read. Wish I would have stolen some of your secrets ahead of time. 😉

      16. Right?! I use reading as a reward for working through a couple hours of school work each day. It helps me stay motivated too!

  3. I love the Princess Bride! Honestly, this book has it all! It’s been a while since I read it, I might have to refresh my memory of how great it was. This seemed like such a fun tag, I am definitely going to be doing this tag one of these days!

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Yes! I just recently reread it (perhaps because I finally splurged to get the illustrated edition), and it was great to jump right into it again. And yes, it was super fun, and I would love to see what books you pick for this! 😀

    1. The Queen of Putrescence? That line always gets me. XD But yes, the story is so good. Thank you! I was going to tag you since I know how much you love the Princess Bride with me, but I always feel awkward tagging people when I haven’t been tagged. XD

    1. THANK YOU. I FELT A BIT LIKE RENDZ IN NARNIA…OMG, I STILL NEED TO DO THAT ONE. XD BUT THANK YOU FOR LIKING MARE AND MAVEN, BECAUSE I THOUGHT I WAS LOST IN A SEA FULL OF CAL LOVERS. HE WAS JUST KIND OF MEHHHHHHHHH FOR ME. AND I DO NOT KNOW WHY, BUT IT IS SO AMUSING AND EXCITING SO I HAD TO THE DO THE SAME. BUT YES, BECAUSE IT WAS RATHER FUN.

I totally agree with you on Geekerella and Six of Crows (cough I know that I haven’t read it yet but I already consider them my children so cough don’t judge cough) 😂

  6. I have to read the Princess Bride! I only watched the movie years ago and I enjoyed it a lot. I still have to read Cress but I’m captain Thorne all the way already! Awesome answers 😁❤️

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Yes! It really is a lot of the same stuff as the movie, but it gives a ton more backstory and expands on a lot of stuff. Same epic goodness from the movie, though. Thorne definitely reaches new heights in Cress. He’s so wonderful. But thanks so much!! 😀
