The Mulan Book Tag

Two princess posts in one day? Can we be excited?? I’m excited anyway. XD I would like to thank the lovely icebreaker694 for tagging me in a tag that I’ve been waiting (i.e. dying and FANGIRLING SO HARD FOR) to do for a while now but always a tiny bit afraid to tag myself (because the guilt of the file folder that I have stuffed with official tags I’ve had waiting to do might riot against me). Wow, that was a long sentence. Anyway, please go check out her blog. It’s full of amazing bookish content; manga content; anime content; and now gaming content – there’s nothing that this blogger can’t do and not make it interesting! Check it out here! 🙂

Now, let’s get to business…

…to defeat the HUNS! Or do the tag. Either or.

The Rules:

  • Mention the creator (Kirsty and the Cat Read)
  • Thank/mention the person who tagged you
  • Match books or characters to the questions below
  • tag as many people as you like🙂

Reflection “When will my reflection show who I am inside” – An inaccurate book cover that doesn’t really reflect what the book is about.

Despite how much I love the cover of Saints and Misfits by S.K. Ali, it kind of tricked me a bit. It seemed like it would be a super light, fluffy book filled with swoons and cuteness and wonderful ships – however, this book was quite a bit dark dealing with important and heavy topics such as sexual assault. It just totally messed with me a bit; but this book was really fantastic, though, despite my initial confusion.

Mushu – A character with a lot to prove.

Intriguing prompt for Mushu. It is a good one, and not the super obvious one, but I do like it. Um, I think I’m going to go with my beloved Carswell Thorne (ironic, since that’s who I picked for my Mushu pick in my own tag XD), because I mean, the first time we meet the man he’s in prison for stealing and other bad things. He is determined to be a good guy and someone respectable for his friends, himself, and his love. With a pretty shady past, he has a lot to prove (and a lot of comedy along the way).

“I’ll make a man outta you!” – A character who develops the most OR a book with some kick-a** training scenes.

Oh, um, huh, this is a hard one. All of the books with fighting scenes seemed to have flew out of my head. But thanks to the wonders of Goodreads, I can remember that A Darker Shade of Magic definitely had some wonderful character growth and well, not training scenes quite but definitely some kick butt fighting scenes. Also, I find it hilarious I have a picture of it with my Mulan goodies. XD

“A Girl Worth Fighting for” – A ship you will defend till your last breath.

…*whispers* Cresswell. ARE WE EVEN GOING TO PRETEND TO BE SURPRISED?

Huns – A book/character that gives you the creeps.

I just finished up Black Bird of the Gallows by Meg Kassel, and the book definitely had a creepy atmosphere and a villain that definitely gave me the D: face. Beekeepers are creepy in general for me, and I hate bees, so this book definitely provided me with a few creepy factors.

Mulan – Your favorite bada** female protagonist.

Alosa, Alosa, Alosa! ❤ She’s fierce, funny, and true to her heart. I love her dearly, and she has easily become one of my favorite heroines ever. Everyone super needs to read Daughter of the Pirate King ASAP.

Tag…you’re it!

Well, I was trying to go through my head of bloggers who favorite princess was Mulan, and I know there was a few (but I SO FORGOT A LOT OF THEM OOPS). I grabbed a few who I know love Mulan, but if you love her dearly like I do, please feel free to tag yourself!

Kyera @ Kyera’s Library / Kate @ meltingpotsandothercalamities / Rendz @ Reading With Rendz / Steph @ The Lost Purple Quill (wasn’t sure if she was your favorite, but thought it might be fun?)

What do you think? How epic is Mulan? What are some of your choices for this tag? Let’s discuss in the comments below!

    1. Ahahahaha. He’s been showing up quite a bit lately. I really need to find some new other loves, but Carswell is just too distinct. XD I’m hoping Renegades will showcase a new epic Carswell-worthy love for us. XD
