Fierce Fangirl Fridays are put on by the wonderful and lovely Jackie @ Too Much of a Booknerd. If you’re not following her already, seriously, go do it, because she’s amazing. Now, what is Fierce Fangirl Fridays? Basically, it’s where you fangirl/boy over anything – that’s right, each week you pick a different thing you’re fangirling about the moment and JUST RUN FREE WITH THE FEELS. Only rule? Just pingback to her post here! It’s so easy that it hurts. 😄
That’s right – I’m fangirling over another show. In the middle of an X Files binge, I also have apparently fell in deep with yet another TV show spiral. Oops.
Friday Night Lights…it was never a show that I was particularly interested in. It seems super angsty and about a small town in Texas super obsessed with football. I mean, I’ve never super been into football or angst, so I mean, why was I going to get into? But my family and I were looking for a new show to watch in the meantime before all our shows come back in the fall, and I figured, this would be an okay show to read my book to…EXCEPT IT HASN’T BEEN BECAUSE I’M GETTING NO READING DONE.
NO. READING. DONE.
BECAUSE THIS SHOW IS SOO GOOD. Yes, it’s angsty as all get up, but it’s soo feely and intriguing and THE FEELS FEEL SO GOOD. My heart is constantly going NO NO DON’T DO IT. DON’T GET IN TOO DEEP WITH ANYONE BECAUSE YOU’RE JUST GOING TO END UP YELLING AT THEM.
What I find the most interesting about the show is how realistic it is. It deals with so many important topics and so many realistic topics. It has intense characteristic development, and I feel like I know these characters. I feel their pain and I understand their problems. I feel invested in their progress and growth. I haven’t seen characterization done that well in a long time.
Ugh, maybe that’s why I haven’t been reading. I’m too invested in the characterization on the show to get deep in with any other characters. XD
This show is hitting me so hard in the feels, though, and I STILL HAVE THREE MORE SEASONS TO GO. *crying already* Welp.
I think there’s a book, I’m pretty it the show was based on it and not the other way around but I’m not sure. Sounds like a good show though! (You also have a bajillion notifications on Twitter from Rendz and myself, so….. I thought I’d let you know.)

Oh yeah, I’m mildly afraid because I think there’s going to be a character scuffle..

It was big in the early 2000s, and then kind of faded into blog oblivion. XD But YES. If the feels get real, then you know it’s good.

I love Friday Night Lights! I would say my favorite couple, but I don’t want to spoil anything.

I never watched the show in full, but I did end up watching a fair bit of it by walking downstairs while my sister was watching and being unable to look away. The book is apparently closer to the movie than it is to the show.

Ahahahaha yes! XD It will do that to you. I’m like, oh, no, I’m going to focus on my book but nooooooo, it just takes over. XD But that’s good to know! I always wondered what the difference was between all three.
