The Versatile Blogger Award Pt…2!

Lookie, lookie, I’m actually doing an award tag I had promised to do ages ago. How excited are we?? Not very? Well, I am, and if I could figure out how to put a gif in here, they would be too. Oh, imagine, all the princess fun we could have in gif form. :O So very thrilling.

I was nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by three lovely bloggers: The Book Cover Girls, Quirky and Peculiar, and Lucinda is reading…! Each of them have wonderful blogs filled with great book recommendations and review – plus some other bookish fun. Make sure to check them out on the links above, and thank you again, ladies!!

  • Display the award on your blog.
  • Thank the blogger that nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Share 7 facts about yourself.
  • Nominate 10 bloggers for the award and provide links to their blog.

  • I used to be a YA writer – not published or anything, but I was actually on two different writing websites (including…dun dun dun, Wattpad, which either gets so much love or so much hate XD). I say used to be because school made me question a lot of my creative writing abilities and now I’m kind of flailing about. I have a lot of cool ideas occasionally, but I can’t motivate myself to actually write them. I’ve resigned myself to being a YA reader for now instead of a struggling writer. Also, I did get kind of burnt out when someone stole my story on Wattpad. -_-

Anna’s like, no, girl, no, you shall not say the name of any non-Disney princess.
  • One of my all time favorite princesses isn’t a Disney princess, and I feel so guilty. Like, there is actual guilt. But she’s so fierce and epic and the music in it is insanely brilliant. It’s also morbid and creepy as heck for little ones, but SO good. Can you guess which one?
  • I used to be a hugeeeee TV addict, but since starting this book blog, I actually have cut down on literally almost all the shows that I used to watch. Nothing really interests me anymore except for a select few shows, because I’m too busy being drawn into the world of books. I’ve traded in one addiction for another.
  • I have a weird relationship with used books. Like, I LOVE the deals on them, but I’m insanely picky about how they look. I’m a slight germophobe, so if it looks like it has weird stains or smell, I’m so out. And broken/creased spines? Yup, out again. SO I buy almost all my books new…which my bank account hates me for.
  • Lately, I’ve been crying over fast food commercials. I don’t even know what’s going on anymore, but fast food commercials have been bringing in the realness and I get all misty eyed. I didn’t get cry in The Fault in Our Stars but I almost shed some real tears over a McDonalds commercial the other day.
  • I’m usually ridiculously late to the hype party – books, TV, movies, etc. I think I finally watched Stranger Things two months ago, and I’m still so behind on some of the biggest hyped books (hello, Throne of Glass). I’m not even a real hipster. D:

Elsa is skeptical of this news but still epicly excited.
  • And last but certainly not least…I reached 400 followers earlier this week, and then somehow yesterday 420. :O I don’t know how, but I want to thank each one of you that takes the time to read these rambling posts, raves over some books and princesses with me, or clicked that Follow button. You gals and guys are the best, and I never thought that I would have gotten to this point. I would have been impressed with 100 by now, but 420 is unreal. So I’m just going to sit here and not throw an epic Princess freakout (i.e. flinging myself on the nearest bed/rock and having a good cry…I’m already doing that at fast food commercials). Thank you so much again, and I really can’t say it enough.

Soooo…tagging/nominating time!! Not sure who still does them, so I’m just grabbing a random assortment of some of my followers and of course, feel free not to do it.

Book Wonderland / The Book-Filled Day / The Book Crunch / Whispers of Thoughts / Past Bedtime Blog / YA Guitarist / Sarah @ Reviews & Read-A-Thons / Books Coffee Cats / KuehlerBookStop / twistedreader /

These were just a few I could think of randomly, but if you’re interested in doing the tag, please do…although warning: seven facts about yourself is insanely hard to do. XD Also, I’m going to probably get on doing my tags soon, and if you enjoy doing tags, please let me know! Thanks again!

Don’t forget: tomorrow is the first day for The Princesses Read! I can’t wait for you to see what Tiana would be reading. She’s got a fabulous selection so far!

    1. Thanks so much, Angelica!! ❤ But very true. Every once in a while, I'll get the urge back, but then as you said, I think about the great YA potential. Now I just need the time. XD But thanks so much!! (and same about learning – I think these posts are the best).

    1. You’re very welcome, and thank you!! 😀 Lol, Wattpad was actually my second writing website, and I was on another one before that. When that shut down, I got kicked over to Wattpad so I never gave it a fair shake, but I could see where the addiction might come in because it had some good stories on there.

  1. Me too! Because I treat all my books like my babies, I always buy them new! And whenever I buy used books, I buy those that still looks a bit new. And I don’t like books that smells bad or look bad. I borrowed three books from a friend once and the books were covered in dust and it smelled a little awful. So when I arrived home, I practically wiped every inch of it with tissue and a bit of wipes to get rid of the smell. Haha! And I think over-hyped books doesn’t need to be read by all the booknerds in the world right? XD I haven’t read most of the over-hyped books too! Haha! Great post Mandy! And congrats on the 400, now 420, followers! You deserved them girl! Keep readin’! 😀

    1. Yes, same, Jannin! The smell is what gets me the most. I don’t know what it is but I always just sit there going, WHERE HAS THIS BEEN? WHY DOES IT SMELL? But omigosh XD That’s taking it to new heights. Were the books even good? But good to know I’m not the only one with over-hyped books. And thanks so much, Jannin! ❤

    1. I actually never use it…or haven’t used it about four or so years, I want to say. So it’s kind of just sitting there awkwardly…maybe? I don’t know if Wattpad deletes inactive ones. But I can send it over if you still wish but it does just sit. XD You have books up there then, Kate, or just general updates? And glad I am not the only one with used books. My friend adores them and I feel like a bad book geek when I’m alone. XD And hmmmm…you might be onto something with that second one. 😉

      1. Ah, that makes sense. I sorta update….but I always forget, and I’m battling writer’s block with both my Wattpad stories lol. I know, I just don’t like the smell. It’s just my thing I guess. And ugh…anymore hints? I feel like such a failure, haha

      2. Oh gosh. Writer’s block is the reading slump equivalent. There has to be something to get you. And there is a lot of pressure to update, too, on that site. But hopefully the block will go away soon. And oh, I’m the same way. The smell does me in. I’m always, like, WHAT CAUSED THIS SMELL? And it gets me all freaked out. But no, no, I do believe you got it in one of the ones you came up with. 😉 And I believe I mean yes, you totally got it. XD

      3. Oh no. D: It’s even worse when you see it coming. I hope it’s doesn’t come but fades back into the distance. XD And yes! I always die a little on the inside when people say that they love the smell of old books. It’s just SO not for me and I’m so jealous of them. And woooo! 😀

      4. Oh gosh. It really is. I used to tell people I had like four WIPs and they would always be like, why can’t you finish one? And I’m like -_- let’s not talk about the evilness that is writer’s block. But oh gosh. They’re sitting there, tempting you, but of course the smell. D: That’s just mean. XD

  2. Yay! Congrats on 420+ followers! You deserve each and every one!

And I’m always late to the hype party, too. I only just started reading A Court of Thorns and Roses a few days ago, and I haven’t even started half the TV shows people have been suggesting. I just get too busy!

  3. Is it Anastasia??!?!?!? I love Anastasia and I’d say she is pretty fierce! Omg I cut down on a lot of TV too. Blog life has taken over real life Rendz and she is oddly ok with that. Congrats on 420+!!! More people get to see your fabulous blog! I can’t wait to see your Princess Reads post tomorrow!!!!!!!

    1. Maybeeeeeeeeeeeeee. 😉 Also, random side note, but there is an Anastasia YA book, I found. :O It’s just about her, but I was shocked. LOL, I am totally the same. But THANKIESSSSS. ❤ You're the best, Rendz. Hopefully it lives up. 😀

  4. Congraz on your 420+ followers! I hope that I will hit 400 followers one day. 😡 Thank you so much for tagging me. 🙂 I’m very picky about books too. Even though I usually buy 2nd hand books, I would look at it and make sure that the spines aren’t cracked and there are no dog ears. So I usually wait for a mega book sale and I just buy a ton of books. XD

    1. Thanks so much, Joanne! I’m sure you will one day, because you do have a lovely blog! 😀 Yes! Those book sales are the best and I’m trying to use more restraint to wait for them, but as you said, you have to check them all out. 😀

  5. Congrats on another blogger award AND your 400 + followers, Mandy!!! That is a major accomplishment, and I’m SO excited for you! You are the princess of our little book blogger world, and we all adore you for it!

  6. Congratulations, Mandy! 😀 For the award and 420 FOLLOWERS!! That is huge!!! And don’t just be so shocked! Your blog rocks and you rock and your posts rock so what is there to be shocked about? YOU DESERVE ALL OF IT ❤ ❤
And I didn't know you used to write… That's so cool ^^ Sorry to hear someone stole your story… The gall of some people! -_-
I don't know who the Princess is… I'm such a bad friend. PLEASE TELL ME :O I need to know which epic non-Disney princess is your fave!!

    1. Awh, thanks so much, Sophie. You’re the very best. ❤ ❤ ❤
And yes! I really don't talk about it much, and I'm not sure why. XD I started last year of grade school and did it all the way until college and then college just drained all of my writing abilities. And i know! I guess that means I might have had something good, though? XD
And it's…Anastasia! ❤ She was so amazing. I think I might have watched her as much as my favorite childhood Disney Princess…just don't tell Disney on me. :O

  7. Hey! Great answers! Thanks for completing this, I always get disappointed when I nominate people and they ignore me 😦 because I love reading about other bloggers. Wow, 420 followers is HUGE! Congratulations!

    1. I know what you mean. I feel so bad that I keep making people think I’m ignoring them but I’m just so terribly behind. XD But I agree because it’s so much fun to read these type of posts. Thanks so much, though, and thanks again for nominating me!! 😀
