The Mystery Blogger Award

mystery-blogger-award

Somehow, my Book Princess butt managed to get nominated by two lovely bloggers for this magical and mysterious award in a matter of two days. Trust me, it’s as much a mystery to me as this award is…period? I was trying to make something work there, but I’m not seeing it going anywhere, so can we just pretend?

I would like to thank Jamie @ Book Pandamonium (her wonderful blog involves adorable pandas and awesome YA reviews and is there anything more you could want besides that? – check out more of her blog here) and Rendz from readingfromrendz (check out her amazing blog that I read and love everything of involving such a great collection of YA book reviews, tags, and more here). Thank you so much to these lovely bloggers, and I appreciate it so much! Crowns for everyone! I am a Book Princess, so I can do that, right? Maybe?

Here’s a little bit more about a Mystery Blogger, who apparently isn’t all that mysterious as first thought:

“Mystery Blogger Award”  is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging; and they do it with so much love and passion.

This award was created by Okoto Enigma @ Okoto Enigma’s Blog

Now onto me. Yay? Here’s three things you don’t know about me:

  1. This is a go-to fact for me when I’m forced to say something interesting about myself: I still don’t know how to ride a bike. At age five, I called it quits when my parents decided to take off the training reasons because of “safety reasons.” Apparently, I was overly cautious even at a young age. Go me?
  2. I wasn’t always as invested in Disney Princesses as I clearly am now. As a child I loved them, but it wasn’t until about maybe four years ago that I really started to become the Disney fangirl that I am today. Thank you random girls I overheard talking about the majesty of Aladdin – I just had to experience it myself and got lost in the Disney vortex.
  3. When I went to Ireland over the summer, I literally had a five minute fangirl session with myself because the Cliffs of Moher was where they filmed the Cliffs of Insanity shot – a legitimate 30 second part in the movie. My Princess Bride obsession is at that level.

Okay, now onto more me? These are Jamie’s questions:

1. Which do you prefer: winter break  or spring break?

Winter, because it has Christmas in it, and Christmas is my favorite holiday. 🙂

2. What was your least favorite book of 2016?

Oh, gosh, that is a hard one. One that I read or one that just came out? Hmmm…I will do something that works for both. It was probably Bookishly Ever After by Isabel Bandiera, because this was a most anticipated reads for 2016, and I ended up having some major rants because of it.  Trust me, my friend was ready to turn off her phone yet again because I went on text binges to get all my feelings across for this book.

3. If you had the chance to talk to a celebrity, who would you want it to be?

Oh, hmmm. Well, since this is a book blog, I would definitely love to meet Marissa Meyer and just have a chat to figure out the process she used for coming up with her ideas and just where the ideas came from. And maybe try and use some persuasive techniques to get her to do more fairytale retellings.

4. What’s your most anticipated movie for 2017?

…the live-action Beauty and the Beast, of course. Although Beast still looks a bit sketchy for me.

5. Weird: Do you have any unusual talents?

Ummmmmm…I’m going to say no? Does not being able to ride a bike count? It’s a talent in its own right to go for so long and not learn.

Crossing one bridge to another…

Oh…still me. Sorry in advance. Rendz’s questions:

  1. What was the first book you read that made you feel grown-up?

Sins and Needles by Karina Halle. It was my first contemporary romance novel, and it totally made me feel like a big girl. XD

2. Who is your auto-buy author(s)?

Marissa Meyer (I think Rendz and I would both agree), Megan Miranda, Leigh Bardugo (her new stuff…not completely sold on going backwards), and Leah Rae Miller.

3. What is your guilty pleasure read? *wags eyebrows*

Umm…regency romance books. I know I will never get anything remotely useful from them, but sometimes, they are just so entertaining. Plus, they make me giggle. XD

4. What is a one song you know all the lyrics to and can *air guitar* your way through the whole song?

“Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey, because I mean, of course. But also, “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” by Panic! at the Disco is another song that always gets me to bring out the insane dance moves.

5. When is your favourite time to read?

Probably at night – it usually gets quiet around that time and I’m able to use reading as a way of calming down from the day’s activities. Although that leads me to loads of fun when I spend half the night binge reading a great book.

I couldn’t choose my top 3 or favorite 3 so here are just what WordPress tells me are my best:

– These Vicious Masks

My turn for questions! Finally, something not about this Book Princess:

  1. A Must Have Question: favorite Disney Princess? If you’re not a fan of the Princesses (le gasp), favorite Disney movie? 😉
  2. What is the first book you remember reading? Did you like it?
  3. Have you always loved reading? Is there a time where you ever quit?
  4. If you were stuck on a desert island (happens all the time), what three to five books would you take with you?
  5. If you could go anywhere in the world (or outside of it), where would you go?

I would like to nominate (very politely and with no obligation since you may already have done it or don’t want to – if you don’t see your name here, it may have been because my brain has gone fuzzy or I saw you had already been nominated):

Ava @ Reads, Rhythms, & Ruminations / Tiana @ The Book Raven / Krysti @ YAandWine / Flavia @ Flavia the Bibliophile / Annike and Zoe @ Twin Tales Book Reviews / Megan @ bookslayerReads / TeacherofYA / Melanie Noell Bernard / Nadwa @ painfullyfictional /  Laura @ Reading Sanctuary  / Joshua @ Highlit / abooknation

  1. Congratulations on your award! 🙂
I can’t wait for Beauty and the Beast either… We’ve barely seen anything from it and it’s making me really excited about every single thing that comes out. I hope they don’t mess it up!

    1. Thanks so much!! I know about Beauty and the Beast. Even in the longer trailers, it’s still mostly exterior shots of the castle and stuff and not even really the plot or actual scenes of the movie. As you said, fingers crossed that it goes well. XD

The go-to fact for me is that I don’t know to swim. xD
I’m quite excited for Beauty and the Beast myself.

      1. You’re very welcome! I loved your post! I’ve tried commenting on it a million times now, but WordPress keeps eating it (like it does most all my other comments). So sorry if I spammed you a million times in case you did get them all (if so, so embarrassing and I will be as red as red wine 😉 but I will try to post my comments later when I can get in again and have a proper chat with WordPress. Again, so sorry if I just spammed you with a million comments. D:

  4. Thank you for that amazing shout-out! 😊 (and the crown, of course. I will wear it with pride) I also totally agree that Marissa Meyer should make more retellings. She’s so good at them!! And reading at night is the best- it’s such a good feeling.

    1. You’re very welcome! Thanks again for nomination!! She really is so good, and I can think of a million ones she could do…maybe she will hear this book plea? And it is! The day is okay, but night, as you said, is the best.

  6. I haven’t read Bookishly Ever After, but I think I’ll pass on it since you said it’s your worst read of 2016. Thanks for the nomination and love the questions!

    1. OH no!! I’m sorry. D: I thought I had commented somewhere on your blog about it (to give you a heads up), but that was also during WordPress’s strike that they had against me allowing to comment on things and it kept eating my comments. D: That probably was the reason (although I never have any clue what is going on with WordPress and what I’m doing so who knows XD), since WordPress kind of hates me some days? I’m sorry, though. D: Thank you very much by the way. ❤ But that is so weird that it never let you know D:

      1. Oh God. I think I should check my settings and see if I’ve done something wrong. Yeah, I think WordPress sort of did the same thing when I commented on some of the bloggers’ posts to notify them. I was so frustrated, because I literally just found your post by accident.
