I’m bringing you today one of the most fun interviews I’ve ever done! Instead of just interviewing the author, I’m actually interviewing a character from one of the best books that I’ve read all year. Jeremy is one half of the most adorable ships, and he was also my favorite character in this book. He kind of got himself in a Rapunzel-fairytale struggle, and he’s truly unique. I gave him (and his fantastic author) a few questions that have been plaguing me since I finished this book. Make sure to check out my review here, and all the reasons you need to read this book!

Luke can uncross almost any curse—they unravel themselves for him like no one else. So working for the Kovrovs, one of the families controlling all the magic in New York, is exciting and dangerous, especially when he encounters the first curse he can’t break. And it involves Jeremy, the beloved, sheltered prince of the Kovrov family—the one boy he absolutely shouldn’t be falling for.
Jeremy’s been in love with cocky, talented Luke since they were kids. But from their first kiss, something’s missing. Jeremy’s family keeps generations of deadly secrets, forcing him to choose between love and loyalty. As Luke fights to break the curse, a magical, citywide war starts crackling, and it’s tied to Jeremy.
This might be the one curse Luke can’t uncross. If true love’s kiss fails, what’s left for him and Jeremy?
Interview with Jeremy, the adorable character
This is Book Princess Reviews, and most of us are all about the fairytales here. Your book and you, especially, deal with an unwelcome curse and some true love’s first kiss issues. What do you think of fairytales (especially since they kind of mess with your life a bit), and do you have a specific one…or a favorite Disney one??
Jeremy: Fairy tales are very serious business to me! They are pretty much the worst ever thing, although I guess I do have some nice memories of reading books with my brother. I can’t watch Tangled because it’s, like… way too real. I like Lilo and Stitch, because it’s got a weird little family and aliens are cool.
You have quite the fashion sense in the book. You love bright colors, crazy shorts, and a particularly offensive to most, green Mets hat. Can you describe your fashion style and is there anything you wouldn’t wear?
Jeremy: I would describe my fashion as amazing and great and definitely not worthy of lighting on fire, no matter what certain individuals might tell you. I like to wear things that are bright and make me feel happy. I would never wear a tie, black or gray, or anything not awesome.
You have some of the coolest magic I’ve seen in a book in a long time. You create these little animals and brought lights that seem straight out of a fairytale. What is it like having that kind of power? And what is your favorite thing to create?
Jeremy: I’m glad you thought it was cool! I think it’s kind of silly—I mean, everyone I know can do these super powerful things, and I can just make stuff that’s pretty. The lights are probably the most useful. My favorite thing to make is probably little animals, though—people usually like them.
You have a pretty tight-knit family. Your two brothers are super close to you, and you also exceedingly caring to your sister-in-law and your nephews. I can imagine it’s super interesting when you all get together – like it happened quite a few times in the book. What are the dynamics like at big family functions or holidays?
Jeremy: Yeah… interesting is definitely the word for it. The thing is, things are mostly good if it’s just a couple of us at a time, but when we all get together, somebody’s going to end up fighting. That doesn’t stop us, of course—my brothers work together, and Alexei comes over for every holiday. We just go ahead and have the fights.
It’s okay if we’re around clients or in front of people, though. We can put on a show. Oh! Or if somebody’s trying to kill us. Then we work together just fine.
You’ve been kind of confined to New York City for a while…where is your dream place to go – perhaps with a dashing, young curse breaker?
Jeremy: Well… just between you and me… I’d go anywhere if it was with Luke. But I think I’d still like to go to California. Maybe to look at colleges. Maybe one day.

Yes! I can’t imagine doing a Q & A based off my character’s personalities. I can barely know my own brain. XD But yes! It really was adorable and fun. Thanks, Krysti! ❤
