NAME A CARTOON CHARACTER THAT YOU LOVE.

MANDY: Can I say Disney Princesses? I’m going to say no, since that feels like cheating. I used to love Garfield a ton as a kid.

SHA: Robin from Teen Titans. You know how he’s funny because he’s so uptight? Yeah, so that’s me most of the time.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SONG RIGHT NOW?

MANDY: I Do, Aloe Blacc

SHA: Sad About It, Gill Chang & Luma.

WHAT COULD YOU DO FOR HOURS? (that isn’t reading)

MANDY: Blogging…but non-blogging, walking. I love to go a good walk.

SHA: Ride the bus and listen to music.

WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU LOVE TO DO THAT YOUR FOLLOWERS WOULD BE SURPRISED BY?

MANDY: Baking! I love baking. I don’t talk enough about it – and don’t have the time to do it all the time (mostly because my grandma always yells at me about dirtying up her kitchen), but I love it a lot.

SHA: It’s about here that I realized Mandy and I already did this tag, but I committed too much energy into setting it up, so please enjoy reading our answers again. I love to talk through my thoughts aloud. It eases anxieties I have about past and future decisions. I … may or may not also do this for decisions people make on fictional TV shows.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE, UNNECESSARILY SPECIFIC THING TO LEARN ABOUT?

MANDY: Paranormal goodness – aliens, Bigfoot, ghosts, Jersey Devil. Anything supernatural or strange, I’m invested.

SHA: Beauty guru dramas. Not even celebrity drama. Beauty gurus and youtubers in general now. (Then I talk through their decision-making process to myself.)

WHAT IS SOMETHING UNUSUAL YOU KNOW HOW TO DO?

MANDY: Ummmmmmm…I’m not sure I have anything that is like oooh that is unusual. I don’t even know how to ride a bike! I know some Polish basics thanks to an accidental Polish remote I got from Fisher Price for a friend’s baby. I played it so many times, trying to figure out what language it was that I know some letters and numbers.

SHA: My skills are all so basic! I can scuba dive now, but I don’t like it. I feel too anxious breathing through a device.

NAME SOMETHING YOU’VE MADE IN THE LAST YEAR.

MANDY: Can I say something I baked again? I’m not really a maker, so besides the email blasts I do at work and the blog posts I create here, I’m not sure I make anything else besides decisions and thought spirals.

SHA: Like, twenty thousand different dessert recipes? And this was before COVID-19, so imagine how I’m doing now.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST RECENT PERSONAL PROJECT?

MANDY: I had a quarter life crisis a few months ago, so I’m now on bettering my life kick. Part of which is my goal to get back to peak health.

SHA: A sweet sixteen, gluten-free birthday cake for my sister.

TELL US SOMETHING YOU THINK ABOUT OFTEN.

MANDY: My thoughts are so scattered a good deal of the time. I range from books to talking about books to the most recent TV show I’m binging to work to DEAR GOSH to everything.

SHA: How to improve the blog in general. And how to continue bettering myself.

GIVE US SOMETHING THAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE (but make it oddly specific).

MANDY: The sound that nails click away on a phone or keyboard.

SHA: Hot chocolate made with milk, and then stirred with a candy cane so it has a minty flavour.

SAY THE FIRST THING THAT POPS INTO YOUR HEAD. 

MANDY: Old Town in Poland (Warsaw). I was thinking about it as an option for the question above, and it popped in for this one.

SHA: Yeah no, that always makes my mind go blank. Meet me in person and ask me what my hobbies are and you won’t get, “Reading, blogging, cooking, gardening,” you’ll get, “uhhh… I watch TV shows… sometimes…”
