I FORGOT THAT YOU EXISTED
a book from your childhood that you don’t remember anything about
SHA: I even watched the movie but I can’t remember anything about The Tale of Despereaux.
the worst book you’ve read this summer
MANDY: Hot Dog Girl. This book was a mess – mostly due to the extremely messy main character who never stopped making a mess.
a bookish relationship that’s perfect exactly the way it is
SHA: I’m totally butchering the intentions of this prompt by choosing Deposing Nathan. But I love the way the relationship in this book worked out. Without explaining more, this could sound odd, but I don’t want to spoil anything.
a book with a badass female main character
MANDY: Celine from The Beautiful certainly fit the bill. She was such a badass and a fantastic feminist icon. She was physically, emotionally, and mentally strong.
a book with great character development
SHA: Eden makes huge steps in Goodbye, Perfect. Her decisions were hugely naive at the beginning and she learns of their consequences as the book progresses.
I THINK HE KNOWS
your fictional crush
MANDY: Ummmmmmmmm Carswell Thorneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
MISS AMERICANA & THE HEARTBREAK PRINCE
a book set in highschool
SHA: Vivian Carter is fed up! This is my selection for a book set in high school.
a book with a happy ending
MANDY: Like, every contemporary ever, lol? Let’s go with I Wanna Be Where You Are.
a setting you’ll never forget
SHA: I keep thinking, “I want to live there,” but also, “I hate seafood.”
DEATH BY A THOUSAND CUTS
a book that broke your heart
MANDY: Um. This book below might have pulled a few heartstrings.
a setting that plays a big role in the story
SHA: This book relies on the aristocrats living in their sun-drenched castles and the prisoners sent off the desolate surface of the moon.
SOON YOU’LL GET BETTER
a book that made you cry
MANDY: What If It’s Us got me so emotional. I just felt so seen at parts, and like, omg, I am already getting choked up thinking about it.
a book with a well-written sexy scene
SHA: Um. *scurries away*
YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN
a book featuring an lgbtq romance
MANDY: Red, White, and Royal Blue certainly had one of the cutest ones this year for me.
a great second chance romance
SHA: Um. Second chance romance. None coming to mind, I’m afraid.
your all time favourite book
MANDY: UM. I CANNOT CHOOSE…oh wait, I know! Grave Mercy, my ultimate love.
IT’S NICE TO HAVE A FRIEND
your favourite friends to lovers book
SHA: I had to get three romance prompts in a row. I know I’ve read a few friends to lovers books. Oh! Tash Hearts Tolstoy.
a book with a positive message
MANDY: I Wish You All the Best had such a message of hope and light and love by the end, and it was so wonderful.
sorry we took so long to get to this one, Sara! thanks for creating this tag (and getting me to binge Lover again)
