Thank you to the lovely Michaela @ Journey Into Books for the tag!

name a cartoon character that you love

MANDY: Um, um, DISNEY PRINCESSES. I think we have established that. But they life.
SHA: Does Carmen Sandiego count? I don’t know if there’s a difference between “cartoon” and “animated.”

what is your favourite song right now?

MANDY: “Come Little Children” by Clovet Mae. I answered this question right before Halloween, so this has been on repeat.
SHA: f*ck i’m lonely by lauv and Anne-Marie except lately I haven’t been lonely at all. In fact my introvert self is being overwhelmed with social activities.

what could you do for hours (that isn’t reading)?

MANDY: Blogging. Blogginggggggggg. And honestly, most of my time that isn’t reading is blogging or watching TV. I’m a simple girl with simple book needs.
SHA: Work on the blog. I can sit behind this screen and set up blog posts for hours without even noticing time pass. Also video games, to pick something completely separate from reading.

what is something you love to do that your followers would be surprised by?

MANDY: Honestly, I feel like no one would be surprised by anything with me since I drop my odd loves for Josh Gates, Bigfoot, aliens, and other weird stuff that people mostly go ??? when they hear it. I actually really love to bake, which is something I really never talk about unless you have seen the two odd reviews for cookbooks where I complain about lack of desserts.
SHA: Video games, to go back to my past response. I usually talk makeup, books, and naps, but I have spent all-nighters playing Dragon Age.

what is your favourite unnecessarily specific thing to learn about?

MANDY: Lives of historical females (in short form). This sounds really odd, but I love little anthologies that give me a short history of some legendary epic lady in a few pages. Like, I’ve read an entire books of Irish women, women horror writers, Marvel heroines, and more when I literally have no need or connection to them just because I’m so intrigued by this super random subset of nonfiction.
SHA: All the details about a TV show/movie. I don’t have to have seen the show, either. If a plot sounds interesting, I’ll hunt down every wiki-fact on the actors (their bios, marriages, diets, controversies), the episodes (I will read the synopsis for every. single. episode), the accolades, etc. Then forget it all within the week.

what is something unusual you know how to do?

MANDY: *blinks slowly* what is considered unusual? Ummmmm I can convert “military” time easily? I wowed my boss once when I told him how to quickly convert it without the intense math skills.
SHA: Not even that unusual, but I can grow fruits and veggies. I landed a job for this skill when I was one of the few people around my uni who was knowledgeable about plant growth.

name something you’ve made in the last year (and show us if you can)

MANDY: If only I had taken any pictures of of the baked goods I have made. I usually just make them and run away, hoping it doesn’t take disgusting.
SHA:
I made a Halloween costume for the child I care for. No pics though. Stitching was involved, I know, I’m skilled. Hold the applause.

what is your most recent personal project?

MANDY: I recently deep dived and cleaned out my closet, which came out of nowhere. I’m counting it.
SHA: Does “exploring a new country on my own” count as a personal project?

tell us something you think about often (maybe while staring out of windows)

MANDY: Is this real life? Like, how do you know if this is real? Is all of this fake? I believe in a good existential crisis.
SHA: Usually I think about how the world is built to cater to extroverts, and if you’re loud, even if you say meaningless stuff, people like you more. So I wonder about if it’s good or not to comprise what I believe to act more extroverted to gain more social status and advance in life.

give us something that’s your favourite, but make it oddly specific

MANDY: Waking up in the middle of the night, panicking because you know it’s going to be time to get up, but then you glance at your phone and realize you still have 3 more hours until your alarm will go off so you are good to go back to sleep.
SHA: Watching movies, but on DVD not Netflix, but only late at night, and no snacks, and after a long shower so I’m sleepy and my muscles are tired and ready for bed, with my bed ready so I can get it right after the movie is done.

say the first thing that pops into your head

MANDY: i’m so tired.
SHA: this didn’t take as long as i thought it would.

  1. I love baking but haven’t done it in ages. I’m hoping to start again soon as its December next month and Christmas is a good excuse to bake things. I’d also love to get into games more again. I used to play video games but lately not so much. I don’t think I even know which ones to pick anymore 😅

  2. Great post, thank you so much for doing the tag. It’s always great when you wake up and look at your watch and see you still have ages before you have to get up even better when you wake up thinking its monday and then realise that its sunday and you have the whole day off 💜😀
