  1. From all of these I only know the storm crow 🙈 and I recently read an arc of that, but was quite disappointed..

  2. Pan’s Labyrinth, for sure!
I’m a huge fan of both Guillermo del Toro and Cornelia Funke, plus I really loved Pan’s Labyrinth. It was spooky without delving so deep into horror that I wouldn’t enjoy it. Monsters and creepy fairy tales are totally my thing. My aunt pre-ordered a copy for my birthday and I cannot wait to read it!

      1. OMG I’d die for an ARC. I kind of want to compare notes on the ARC vs the finished copy in terms of looks because the finished book was a total knockout aesthetically. (The day I read it, I literally sent out snaps to everyone on snapchat about how gorgeous various parts of it were.)
So, I’ve read your review and saw that it did indeed have the illustrations on every page (LOVED IT) and the full page illustrations, but under the jacket on the book, the book casing was actually glossy and had full illustrations entirely different from the cover and I just about screamed. Was there anything similar for the ARC?
I love book design and this book blew me away.

  3. Oh I didn’t know Labyrinth of the Faun was already released?! Huh, that’s one of my most anticipated reads this year, so gotta get on that! (I finally watched the movie last week btw; so proud of myself hehe)

      1. Absolutely loved it! I can’t believe I was so scared to watch it, though to be fair that clip with the child-eating monster was something I watched in my English class years ago, so that’s why I thought it was a straight-up horror movie. 😂 But yeah, the dark fairytale vibe was stunning!
