Top 5 Tuesday: Books I *NEED to Read* in 2019

Top Five Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm where bookworms get to chat about their top five books based on different topics.

Can I just copy over my list of “books I plan to read in 2019”? I mean, I can’t go failing my NY resolutions on day one. . .

New year, new T5T! There are some traditions we don’t need to leave in the past and this is definitely one of them. For my steady readers, you’ll be happy to hear I *GOT CARAVAL UNDER MY TREE* so I’ll be reading that soon. No one in my family quite understood the amount of screaming that followed, but in my heart, I know you all do.

The Female of the Species, Mindy McGinnisThe Female of the Species

I kept seeing McGinnis’ upcoming release, Heroine, popping up on 2019 YA release lists. When I commented about my excitement on a few blogs, I kept hearing the same thing: you HAVE to read her other book, The Female of the Species. If everyone is saying the same thing (*and* the book meshes with my interests) I’d be a fool to ignore!

I bought this book over the holidays, so it’s just a matter of *when* I get to it.

3
The Beautiful, Renee AhdiehThe Beautiful (The Beautiful, #1)

Who ISN’T counting down for this release? Hands down my most anticipated for 2019. She didn’t have to but she diiiiiid ahhhh.

4
The Black Coats, Colleen OakesThe Black Coats

When I first saw the summary for this book I LOST it. Now it’s a slow count down until the release date when I will make it all miiine.

5
The Memory of Light, Francisco StorkThe Memory of Light

I unearthed an old (and I mean old) book wishlist and this was on it. I’m still interested in the premise, and the reviews are promising, so I want to get to in this year. Backlog book or not, it looks like something I’ll enjoy!

  1. I’ve got to read The Female of the Species too! I’ve seen so many people rave about it.

The Black Coats has an incredible summary. Can’t wait for it as well.

    1. *chants* THE BEAUTIFUL THE BEAUTIFUL. YES, okay, I don’t KNOW what the news was. I’m still so confusedddd. She said “on Tuesday” but I didn’t see anything on her twitter or Insta or on Penguin Teens. She *did* retween something about being in convo with … I forgot now. Another author. But it was to promo THAT author’s book? So that can’t be it, can it?? Plus the gif literally was The Beautiful so we have to assume it was TB related!!?? And 2019 is killing it with all these amazing book releases. I can’t complain *shushes wallet*
