Isn’t it just perfect that I submitted (haha, yes okay, *submitted*) my Christmas wish-list to friends and family just last week and it’s all fresh in my memory? I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’m particular about the books people can buy for me, and the books I want to have the pleasure of buying for myself. Does anyone else feel this way?
Here are five books I somehow came to terms with other people surprising me with this year. (I hope, I hope, I hope!!). Also, if you saw my Top 5 Tuesday *LAST* week (books I didn’t get to in 2018) you’ll be seeing a huge amount of repeat because … well, I knew they were books I didn’t get to read, and wanted to fix that!
Spinning Silver, Naomy Novik

The concept of this book had me sold right away. The hardcover price is kind of daunting though, so I’m hoping to get it as a gift. YES, when in doubt, spend someone else’s money. MUAHA.
Charlie Hernandez and the League of Shadows

Expect a lot of Rendz’s recommendations in here because our tastes really match up and her reviews are THAT good. This book is on my Goodreads TBR (and my Christmas wish-list)! << I literally can copy my words from the last post, because I even told you I had this on my wishlist!!

I’ve mentioned before that this duology didn’t leave me with as much love as The Wrath & The Dawn did, but I still want to finish it up and see where my heart falls. I’ll either wait for the paperback release to save some coins, or see if it’s under the tree that I still haven’t put up!

Not only did I add this to my Christmas wishlist, but I added a link TO my wishlist showing how cheap it was on Book Outlet (so if I don’t get this book, there is really no excuses). Me, @ my cheap siblings.

This one is a total cheat because it’s not even out yet but if it was under my tree for Christmas that would be a dream come true. A group of girls who get revenge on men who do women wrong??? Um. Um. YES PLEASE. I got declined on Edelweiss so my heart is broken and now I’m just silently waiting out the release date. (And kiiiind of hoping for a new cover because I always read it as “The Black Oats.”)

I’ve been dying to read Caraval! My sister has a copy so I should really get onto reading that. Also really really want to read Spinning Silver and Black coats looks interesting.

I wish I could swap books with my sister!! But neither of them read, sadly. I don’t know where I failed! Spinning Silver looks so good, doesn’t it?? And the reviews are so positive. Here’s to us getting to them in 2019!

I think I said it before, but I liked the sequel to Caraval better than Caraval itself – still hope you’ll love it though!
And I TOTALLY feel you on being picky when it comes to books on a wish list! I often feel like I should put books on there I’m totally, entirely, 100% sure I’ll love? That or I go with the “I own that edition, but I’d like to swap it with that one”-way, which works as well, haha.

I can can only get to that sequel after I read the first… and also, at least I know I won’t be dealing with the dreaded sequel sickness for Caraval!
YESS, I want my wishlist to be ones I absolutely want. And then for myself, I like to go to the store and stare at books for hours like, “Hmm. Do I really love you, or is it *lust*.” It’s very dramatic.

1000% percent for Caraval. Okay, so that’s not a real thing.. but you need Caraval so that you can get to Legendary.
