Christmas Carol Book Tag

It has been two weeks and somehow Book Princess Reviews has only done one holiday book tag? I don’t know how it’s possible, especially considering how many amazing options there are right now. Thankfully, Mandy and I are going to fix this Right. Now. with this Christmas Carol Book Tag.

I found this tag over on annthebookmaster‘s blog, but I don’t know who the OG creator is! If you do, give a shout in the comments so I can give credit.

YOU’RE A MEAN ONE, MR. GRINCH
Name a villanous character you can’t help but love to hate.

MANDY: Can I go back to Octavian?? He was first fun crazy but then actual crazy that I was totally giving him some major side eye. Rick Riordan always does great with villains.

SHA: I’m realizing that I don’t read a lot of books with villains (unless it’s a mystery and the villain is the whodunit). Nothing is coming to mind right now!

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU
What book do you most want to find under your Christmas tree this year?

MANDY: The Belles! While I’m absolutely LOVING this audiobook, I want a pretty pretty hardcover that I can just gaze and adore.

SHA: Smoke in the Sun by Renée Ahdieh. I really really want to wrap up this duology!

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER
Name a favourite character that had to overcome a major obstacle.

MANDY: Sybella from Dark Triumph. She was certainly hit with hurtle after hurtle – both physically, emotionally, and mentally. But she always overcame.

SHA: Hannah in A Danger to Herself and Others. (Releases February 5th.) She was so stubborn and lost and confused, and the worst part is that no one helped her when she needed help. But she found her own strength as the novel progressed.

SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN
Which characters do you think are at the top of Santa’s “Naughty” and “Nice” list?

MANDY: Well, I haven’t had a The Lunar Chronicles answer yet, so clearly this is needed. Cress = Nice. Levana = Naughty. LOOK AT ME GO.

SHA: Kaz Bekker is definitely topping the Naughty list (and I don’t think he cares) and hmm, how about Kezi from Gail Carson Levine’s Ever for Nice? Let’s be honest, if we’re looking for characters who don’t have revenge plots, plan assassinations, or run from the authorities for “Nice,” there’s going to be a struggle XD (I only got Kezi because her entire plot line is being good enough to become a goddess, like…)

FROSTY THE SNOWMAN
What book just melts your heart?

MANDY: Anything Stephanie Kate Strohm. Cheese and funnies and fluff and like IT IS ALL GOODNESS.

SHA: Exit Plans for Teenage Freaks by ‘Nathan Burgoine. My heart, my soul, my spirit is melted with the romance and amazing rep and ahhhh.

FELIZ NAVIDAD
Y
our favourite book that takes place in a country other than your own.

MANDY: I See London, I See France! The book had some problems, but I loved diving into all of the different countries they went to.

SHA: Um, considering how many books take place in Canada, I have *choices* here. I’m going with Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys, which takes place in New Orleans.

IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR
What book do you read to get in the Christmas spirit?

MANDY: Um, um, um, none? I’m not the themed book kind of gal!

SHA: Easy! How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss.

SLEIGH RIDE
What character would you most want to spend the holidays with?

MANDY: Ummmm, can I say Cress again? I feel like she would bring all the fangirlingness and the excitement would be SO SO SO real when she saw a Christmas tree.

SHA: Oh. Probably the Grinch and Max. I’m a holiday grump, apologies. If I’m around Cindy Lou Whos, though, my heart will expand many sizes and singing around trees will happen.

BABY IT’S COLD OUTSIDE
What book do you hate so much you would sacrifice it to the fire to stay warm?

MANDY: The Truth About Happily Ever After?? Although I read it as an e-ARC so I would be sacrificing my phone and that would not be pleasing.

SHA: Dare You to Lie, Amber Lynn Natusch.

DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR?
What book would you recommend to everyone?

MANDY: Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers. Grave Mercyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy is amazing and y’all just need to read.

SHA: The Seven 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton.

We’re tagging everyone who’s doing blogmas this year to do join in on this tag fun!

  1. This is sort of a mean comment, but not really! But to go with the baby it’s cold outside answer, you could always print a picture of the cover and then burn the cover that way instead of sacrificing the phone…I mean, if you really had to burn it. 😉

Nice post! I like how you guys used Christmas color fonts too.
