CLICK TO READ ME RAMBLE! (don’t click if you want to skip to the book recs)
This summer, I hit a massive roadblock. Not literally (because no, I was not driving and I did not crash my vehicle into some kind of signage blocking the road) and not entirely figuratively (because yes, I was still moving forwards, albeit slowly). I don’t know what happened, but suddenly it just became so much harder to find good books.
Now when I say good books, I mean books that leave me wrecked at the end. Like I need an immediate mind-wipe so I can go through the entire journey again, because I know after reading that book, I will never be the same person. (In a very, very perfectly amazing way.)
What did I do when this happened? Turned to my co-blogger Mandy of course! And she had only the same to say. We are just not finding those turn-your-heart-inside-out, melt-your-brain, curl-your-toes, can’t-find-breath-but-it’s-okay kind of books.
As a solution, we did some deep and I mean DEEP digging into our Goodreads, bookshelves and Kindles to find the best of the best books in our favourite genres. Hey, if we’re suffering it’s sure you’re in a rut too. Now let’s see what has kept us book princesses swooning since day one.

Jenn Bennett is always the answer. I have to say, I really enjoyed my first adult book by her too. Every time you guys mention The Summer I Became I Nerd, I remind myself that I need to read it.

TSIBAN was suuuper good. I think it was one of the first contemporary books I truly loved. Full of adorable tropes and deeply hilarious!

Cress is one of my favourite retellings! Six of Crows is my THE FAVOURITE book! 🤗
And I agree, it’s been hard to find those ‘I just read this and I’m dying’ type of books. I just read Strange the Dreamer, which fit the description, but it’s been hard finding such books. ❤️❤️❤️

Jaw drop books are sooo hard to find but they are stunners, truly stunners. Six of Crows is amazing (well worth being on this list!). Ooh, I need to check out Strange the Dreamer. I have not yet, but I’m intrigued now!
