BPR ORIGINAL: Disney Channel Halloween Movies Tag

This original tag is part of our The Nightmare Before Book Princess Reviews Read-a-Thon! Check out more (it’s not too late to join in!) by clicking HERE.

Sha and Mandy are back today with a Halloween tag…yes, it’s only the beginning of October, but Sha and I are nothing if not planners. We were determined to start off our Halloween tags right, and your girls decided, well, we needed to put our Disney hats on and get our own Disney tag in the mix.

If there was one thing that I loved about Halloween as a child, it was always the fact that Disney Channel would come out or show all of their Disney Channel original Halloween movies. We thought, what better than do a tag based off that? Let’s get to the Disney Channel Halloween goodness before I go search the Internet to binge watch all of these!

RULES

booktaghm

  1. Tag the creator (bookprincessreviews) of the DHM Tag.
  2. Thank the person who tagged who.
  3. Answer the questions.
  4. Tag five more people.

THE TAG

Halloweentown: Where is your favorite place to go for Halloween or a place you want to go?

MANDY: Um, does Disney count? Disney has gotta count. I just want to go there and see all the ultimate Disney decor. And buy all the Disney Halloween merchandise. That’s where I want to beeeeeeeeeeeeeee (well, like all the time, but definitely for Halloween).

SHA: During Halloween, I like to decorate my house to hilt and then just hand out candy to the kids on my street. The best part is when there’s a bunch of leftovers and I can, you know, make sure it doesn’t go to waste.

Under Wraps: What’s something that used to be scary to you and then you realized it wasn’t just the mummy in this movie?

SHA: I used to be so scared that aliens were going to abduct me from my bed, or vampires were going to suck out my blood while I slept. So I always went to bed with my covers pulled high over my head. Sure, I couldn’t sleep well with my air filtering through a super thick duvet, but am I alive today? Yes. Yes I am.

MANDY: I’m totalllllllly with Sha on the aliens thing. There used to be woods by one of the places that my parents and I would go shopping, and going by it at night would give me the creeps. I was paranoid something would jump out at us and fear it. Now, I’m like, OMG, DEER BETTER NOT BE JUMPING OUT OF HERE BECAUSE BAMBI AND MY EXPENSIVE CAR.

SHA: Not the expensive car!!

Tower of Terror: What is the scariest place you’ve ever been?

MANDY: I got suckered into going to one of those amusement park/carnival things for Halloween, and I accidentally walked into a haunted house part, and omg, I was dying. People would just jump out and follow you and it was all foggy and I couldn’t deal because IT WOULDN’T STOP. THERE WAS NO EXIT. Ugh, nope, not for moi. Anything that will jump out at me is a no go.

SHA: Probably any alley at night. Or dark street. Sometimes reality is the greatest fear, amirite?

Twitches: If you could be any supernatural creature, what would you be?

Image result for twitches gif

MANDY: A witch…which is what prompted this question in the first place. Like, you get magical powers, you get to read books, you can do all sorts of things, and you get to make the best puns. Ugh, I’m down with all the witch things.

SHA: Something strong and also immortal. Maybe with magical powers. That would be cool.

Don’t Look Under the Bed: Were you scared of monsters when you were a kid? When did it stop?

MANDY: Um, like all of them? Ghosts probably did me in the most, since they felt the most realistic to me? Like, they literally could just fly out at any moment but at least like you would have to go find Bigfoot in the woods.

SHA: Are aliens and vampires monsters? I’ll assume yes. This question is unclear. I blame the person who created it. What a fool. I stopped around ten or eleven. The dangers of reading! Sometimes your imagination gets a *little* too big.

MANDY: :O :O :O

Phantom of the Megaplex: Do you watch scary movies? If so, what is your favorite or the one you got most afraid of?

Image result for phantom of the megaplex gif

MANDY: No, no, no. I’ve watched one, and I was forced to for school so I literally watched it out of the corner of my eye so I mean, does that even count? Because I totally missed every single thing that was happening but I could hear it.

SHA: No scary movies for me! I couldn’t even handle Lord of the Rings until I was sixteen. Which isn’t even scary, just jump moments and tension and creepy looking bad guys. Like I said: intense imagination.

The Scream Team: Who would be on your dream team if you went on a ghost/supernatural creature hunt?

MANDY: Well, I clearly need my X-Files duo, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully on the case. I’ll have the know it all about all the supernatural creatures and the cynic that could cancel out my fear when I get too deep. Plus, Josh Gates. I love me some Josh Gates. If you don’t know who he is, he used to host a show called Destination Truth that would go in search of mythological creatures and ghosts, and he would bring the funnies.

World, meet Josh Gates.

SHA: Probs Mandy just because she knows everything there is to know about random beasts, so at least I’ll be well-versed?

MANDY: Awh, I feel so honored. Sha has so much faith in me. Little does she know that the first bump I hear in the night, this girl will be out of there so fast.

SHA: I take it back, Mandy isn’t coming with me, I just saw how she threw in a paragraph about Josh Gates. She never stops talking about this guy. She will talk about him the whole creature hunt. I will feed myself to the vampires to make it end.

Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire: Have you ever witnessed something/someone that could only be explained by the paranormal? If yes, what/who?

Image result for mom's got a date with a vampire gif

MANDY: I know a few people that have had paranormal encounters, but there was only once that I thought maybe something happened. I was in Ireland, and I had just done a haunted ghost tour of the city we were in. It was clearly for educational purposes. Clearly. Anyway, they mentioned this story about a haunted hotel and how one person was sleeping, closed their eyes, and when they woke up, there was a ghost child that was standing right next to them on the side of the bed. I was good. I was fine. Until I had to go to sleep that night because this has always actually been a fear of mine since a kid? Like, you close your eyes one moment and BAM CREEPY GHOST CHILD IS NEXT TO YOU.

So I was trying to fall asleep that night and kept panicking every time I shut my eyes, so clearly the answer was to turn on the light and try to fall asleep. It somehow worked, but when I awoke the next morning, the light was off with my roommate swearing they didn’t turn it off. In order to switch off the light, you had to physically flip a switch that was above our heads and make a big clicking noise. Seeing as our room had an ancient heater and not many modern furnishings, I doubt it had a timer. So…not saying it was a ghost, but it was definitely unexplained, and I was panicked.

SHA: Okay. One night I got up to go to the bathroom. I was around eleven at the time. It was maybe one in the morning and to be clear: I lived in an apartment on the ninth floor. I passed my mother’s room, and the door was open, and I saw a person’s shadow walk across the ceiling. But SHA, you say, it was YOUR shadow. Except the shadow was facing the other way and not connected to me at all. . .

  1. This was excellent!!!!!!! I cannot wait to do this myself, thank you for tagging me ladies!!! Honestly the nostalgia is real, I haven’t seen these movies in a while but after reading this I want to go on a huge binge!!! Twitches holds a special place in my heart because it was filmed in Toronto and I can recognize some of the places they go and the castle they are in which brings Patriotic Rendz much joy XD
