The Truth Lies Here by Lindsey Klingele

 the truth lies here

Netflix’s Stranger Things meets Men in Black in the first stand-alone young adult novel from Lindsey Klingele.

WHAT’S GOING ON IN BONE LAKE? THE TRUTH WILL SURPRISE YOU.

This funny, eerie stand-alone novel is set in small town Michigan, where Penny, an aspiring journalist, teams up with the nerdy boy-next-door and the town’s star quarterback to find her conspiracy theorist father after he goes missing and several other townspeople turn up dead in the woods.

The deeper she digs, the weirder things start to get. Townspeople repeat the same phrases—verbatim. Men in black suits stroll around Main Street. Chunks of her memory go missing. Pretty soon, Penny’s research leads her to the long-ago meteorite crash in Bone Lake’s woods, and she’s going to have to reconsider her definition of “real” if she wants answers. . . .

This is literally everything I ever wanted pt. 2????? Stranger Things + Men in Black + The X-Files = Mandy’s heart beating wildly, because it’s like the author took everything I ever wanted out of my brain and put it into pages. Now, if Bigfoot could just pop out of the forest on that cover, I would become Deceased by Book. But I literally how does this author and Harper Teen legit know allllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll my buzz words????? I’ll just be here. Waiting. Until August. When I can CRY when this book is in my hands.

What do you think? Is this on your book TBR as well? What books are you waiting for this week? Let’s discuss in the comments below!

  1. I read this book (by accident) back in February and it was excellent. It had an awesome X-Files vibe, plus it explored family, friendship, and even had a nice little romance.

  2. Ohh I’ve seen this cover around! I found it soooo my style (it’s so moody and cool), but it’s the first time I’m reading the synopsis, and it sounds awesome! Have you received an ARC of this? Because I hope you do a review on it so I can decide whether I should give it a go or not! 😛
