I was so excited to see the wonderful and amazing Rendz from Reading from Rendz tag for me for this book tag. Not only because it’s so creative, but Rendz made it herself and everything she does is so much goalssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss. See what I did there? I was feeling proud. Now, I don’t know really watch soccer/football or really particularly like it, but I do know that it’s the way to the IT guy’s heart at work and it’s men in short shorts kicking around a ball. I would like to thank Rendz for tagging me and adding yet another reason to enjoy this sport. Also, please check out Rendz’s blog because she’s the best and YOU JUST REALLY NEED TO, KK?
I was also tagged by Catherine @ This Is One for the Books! Not only am I obsessed with her blog’s name, I am truly enjoying her content as well. She has fantastic reviews, and she does some super fun tags (erm, one of the last one she did was my collab book tag The New Disney Princess Book Tag, so did I just toot my own book blog horn here. OH NO.) Please check out her blog as well, because it’s so much fun and you’ll be discovering some great book recs!

A Book from your World Cup Competing Country/ the Country that You Want to Win!
UM, UM, I DON’T HAVE A FAVORITE TEAM????? IS USA EVEN IN THIS? DO THEY DO SOCCER/FOOTBALL THINGS? IDK. So how about I’m rooting for all countries just like how I See London, I See France went to like a million different European countries. Plus, it’s from the USA, so I can maybe cheer for them if they exist?
It’s The Beautiful Game
Football! Soccer! Beautiful! Whatever you call it!
A book with a pretty cover / A book that features soccer
It’s very pleasing.
Ferocious Fans
Face paint! Big signs! Lots of noise!
Name a fandom you love being a part of!
TLC. TLC. TLC. But I mean, Disney Princesses in general??? WHICH TLC INCLUDES, SO I MEAN, DOUBLE WIN?????
Teamwork! Teamwork! Teamwork!
There is no way one person can win the game!
Name your Favorite Bookish Crew / A Book that has Co-Authors!
Well, TLC is my favorite crew, but recently I read The Pros of Cons which had three different authors and created an epic girl gang a different cons but came together in a cool way. I was all here for them, and so recommend this book. Despite the oddball cover.
Ref Blows the Whistle
You either love him or you hate him.
Name a book/character that you mixed feelings towards!
I recently had some issues with deciding how I felt about this book. I thought it provided some fun great moments, but I was kind of judging it on the potential it had? So I was super torn on rating on it at the end, and I’m still torn to this day. This books is playing ME instead of the secret crush.
GGGGOOOAAAALLLL!!!!
Everyone loses their heads and starts yelling at the top of their lungs!
Name your last 5 star read!
Stay Sweet! It wasn’t a full five crown favorite, but it definitely deserved the five crown. It was full of so many feels, feminism, ice cream, and more! Definitely recommend to start off summer right!
The Gold Cup
It’s what we play for.
The Most Coveted/Loved Book On Your Shelf
Pick one???? RENDZ, WHY YOU GOTTA DO ME LIKE THAT. But it’s probably Grave Mercy. SO SO SO much love for this…as you can see in yesterday’s buddy read review. Sha and I went hard for this book.
Kicking it off to….
Rebecca @ BookishlyRebecca (I know you’re a sports fangirl, but I can’t remember if that includes this!) / Moira @ For the Lover of Books / Micahela @ Journey Into Books / Jamie @ Bubbly Books / Kate @ Meltingpotsandothercalamities / anyone else that is excited about FIFA!
I love the cover of Furyborn (it really pops!), and hahaha I love TLC too. I’m obviously going to read Grave Mercy (how could I possibly not?), but I’m curious to read The Pros of Cons as well now! That cover really speaks to me for some reason lol.

Ahahahah it is a very intriguing cover. I really didn’t think it would be much but it really was quite good! Good emotional read with some fun times at cons and girl power!

Your first answer was so clever 😂 and the Lunar Chronicles fandom is pretty awesome! Thank you for all the nice things you said about my blog, you’re allowed to toot your own horn with the princess book tag–it was so much fun!!! ✨

Thank you! I tried, since I was quite a bit lost with actual teams in there, LOL. And absolutely! ❤ And haahah thank you!! Princesses just bring out the fun naturally.

Thanks for tagging me! I’m a soccer person, so this is perfect. The US didn’t make it this year.

I thought I saw you on Twitter talking about it, so I’m like perfect! And ahhhhh gotcha. That would be perhaps why I haven’t seen anything about them?? XD

Yes. I’ve been tweeting about it a little bit when I get a chance to watch the games.

Who were your teams again? I assume Canada is one, but are…are they still in it?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Canada is really terrible at soccer, so they aren’t in it either. My teams this year are Brazil and Germany. Germany is out, so now I’m just going for Brazil.

Ahhhhhh gotcha! How did you end up choosing them?
LikeLiked by 1 person
I picked 4 teams to root for in 2010 when I was 11 (which I know is ridiculous, but I’m sticking to it), and those are the two out of four that are in this year. The reasoning behind Germany and Brazil specifically is that my mom has German friends and roots for Germany, and I wanted to go for a team I heard was good, so I went for Brazil.

Thank you for tagging me!! I actually haven’t ever watched the World Cup lol but I know a lot of it from ESPN.
Also I’m so excited for the Pros of Cons especially with that cover! As for the US soccer team, cheer for the women’s team. They’re always more successful than the men even though they’re paid a fraction 🤬

Ooooooh perfect! I wasn’t sure if your sports fan-ness reached to World Cup.
And YES. It is so great! And UGH. I always hear about how fantastic they are, and all women should certainly be paid equal…and so much more if they’re even more successful! D:

At least I can hopefully learn a bit about it when I do this tag haha 😛
Exactly like the women’s US soccer team is amazing and the men’s team is meh. The ladies team got the gold and they deserve to be paid like queens!

Yes! Is football your favorite if I remember correctly?
And yes! Sooooooooo much agreement! If only. D:

FABULOUS FABULOUS FABULOUS!
Thanks so much for participating, Mandy! I know you’re not the biggest sports person, but cute men in shorts is a win-win-win-win.
And I’m sorry the last prompt was so tough, but I knew you could do it!!!!

Thankies, Rendz!!! I was in deep with the sports tags thanks to you!! ❤ But they really are. I was into baseball for a while, but then I had to ask myself, but why since it's one of the few sports where men aren't in shorts??? And lol yes! 😉

Watching or playing? I enjoy watching football and hockey, but I’ve never actually played them. Officially. Gym doesn’t count (for football). If it did, I’d be a professional at archery and that weird version of dodgeball where you have a goalie and those mats are on the wall as the goal.. not regular dodgeball, I’m terrible at that. I usually just collected the balls and tossed them to teammates who could tag people out. I’m a super good dodgeball sidekick. I played soccer since I was 5ish? Until I graduated from high school. I joined a team once after college, long story short: injury and couldn’t run or kick right because of it so I may be on permanent hiatus. Playing with 7 year old cousins doesn’t count. Did you ever play sports growing up?

Ooooooh dodgeball was always so scary so being a great sidekick sounds epic! And oh no about the injury!!! That doesn’t sound good at all. Still hurts? And I was literally on the worst basketball teams when I was in like second grade so I never played again. And then I was on softball team that only won one game in the two years I played…I literally sat down in the outfield one time and no one even noticed. But I did enjoy them…kind of?

Dodgeball is super scary. You can get hit in the face. Granted that happened to me before in soccer, but still it’s like a guarantee in dodgeball.
You seem super confident about that answer. Haha. Yay sports?

Oh gosh. Yeah, no, I am not for that at all. Faces are important.
And LOL. Yeah, no. XD I’ve recently gotten into watching football. So maybe?
