I was nominated for this tag by three wonderful and fantastic bloggers. First Sophie @ Blame Chocolate then Angelica @ Dreaming of Fiction and then last by not least Laura @ The Book Corps! All of them are so sweet, have such fantastic bookish content from great reviews to tags to so much more! If you’re not following them, make sure that you get on it! 😉 Thank you so much, ladies!
Rules
1. Answer the questions below
2. Credit the creator Jamie @ALittleSliceofJamie
3. Tag at least 5 people
4. Have fun!
1. Where do you typically write your blog posts?
Usually my couch. That’s my comfy spot where I can watch my TV, chill out, and just get my blogging jam on.
2. How long does it generally take you to write a book review?
Depends. Most of the time I can knock them out in maybe 10 – 20 minutes, but then formatting the post can take a lot longer and then sometimes I can get distracted or get a loss of words or just be totally engrossed in the current episode of X-Files I’m watching.
3. When did you start your book blog?
October of 2016 – which is crazy to think about. Gosh, this blog has changed quite a bit since it first started. I’ve got princesses, blogging series, and tags now instead of me showing sketchy pictures and doing three reviews a day. Progress?
4. What is the worst thing about having a book blog in your opinion?
Time commitment. I didn’t quite realize just how much time you would be putting into it when I first started, but it is a lot. I’ve slumped myself out a few times with it sadly.
5. What is the best thing about having a book blog in your opinion?
The communityyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I absolutely love connecting with everyone on here. I’ve met such wonderful blogging friends, and this is such a great space where I can finally connect with other people that just get it – all the fangirling and squealing and love.
6. What blog post have you had the most fun writing so far?
Oh, that’s a tough one. I’ve written like 400+. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CHOOSE? I always love, love, love doing my How YA Contemporaries Lied To Me series, though.
7. What is your favorite type of blog post to write?
I still do love doing reviews. Tags are fun, The Princesses Reads are fun, but the easiest and quickest for me are the reviews. It’s where I can just fangirl or be my book hipster self the easiest. Everything is kind of fun, though.
8. When do you typically write?
Whenever I have the time and in the mood. Right now, it’s afternoon/evening, but I can do night or morning too. I’m a mood blogger, too???
9. Do you review every book you read?
Pretty much. I usually leave a little something – and since it’s me, it’s usually at least two paragraphs when I just meant one sentence.
10. How do you write your book reviews? With a cup of coffee or tea? With Netflix? Cuddled with your fur baby?
Lol, my kitties cuddle? Not unless my one cat sits on my laptop. But basically just me, the computer, TV on in the background, and my phone.
11. When do you write your book reviews? Right after finishing the book? Two weeks after finishing the book?
I used to struggle so much with this. I would put them off, until I accidentally got a month behind in reviews and I forgot, like, everything. So I’ve been doing it right after I finish the book, and I’ve been finding it so much better and easier to retain things. When I was reviewing Blood of Olympus, I pushed off reviewing it for a day or two and I already had forgotten so much of what I wanted to say. I HAVE NO MEMORY, OKAY???
12. How often do you post?
Pretty much once a day. Any day that Sha isn’t posting, I usually have something up. I have so much content that I’ve already gotten pre-scheduled from going on rolls that it works out.
Tag…you’re it?
I feel like everyone that I went to go tag already has done this? I’ve been seeing everyone do it lately. If you haven’t done it and looks good, feel free to consider yourself tagged! Don’t worry – I’ll actually be tagging people soon. XD
It was so interesting seeing how you blog! I love reading all these Book Blogger Insider posts because everyone has their own way of going about blogging, and all the ways are so cool to read about! 😀

Yes! I’m the same way, Angelica. I love seeing how people do it differently or if we do it the same. 😀

YES. I’m not sure what I was thought but I always like, oh, it will be easy to just slap a post up there and wander away. XD But YESSSSSSSs. That’s the true fun and rewarding part.

Wow, 10 to 20 minutes is speedy! I read your reviews, and they’re often long and detailed, so it kind of makes me jealous you can knock ’em out like that haha. 😀

I think it’s just speed typing and the babble is too strong. XD

Thanks so much, Jamie! ❤ And yes! I just need to have some background to it or I find it's way too easy to get distracted. And I so agree about the book rant. You can get so passionate with it. XD

Great answers, Mandy! Mood blogging is definitely a thing for me too. Sometimes I feel it and other times its just a big nope. Your 10-20 minutes must be really productive because I spend 1-1 1/2 hrs writing a post. TV, phone and the internet are a big distraction, but like I need them there to entertain me! You’ve grown so much over the year, I love all the new additions, especially Princess Reads they are the best!!!

Thankies, Rendz! And lol, the 10 – 20 minutes is not anything but the mouth spewing of the book. XD It gets more intense. But YES. You must have entertainment but it’s a double edged sword. 😦 And thankies, Rendz! It’s weird to think about it all.

I wish I could spew in 10-20 min, but I’m not a spewer. I’m a “wemustperfectthissentencebeforewemoveon” kind of writer. It’s not effficient XD

Ahahahaha oh no. XD After university, you will be a spewer. All of the years of trying to make up papers on the fly.

I’m counting I’ll get something out of this post-secondary education, spewing skills sounds like something that can take me far in life.

I sometimes take 10-20 minutes at work to write a quick blog post but I try not to do that too often. I did that yesterday since it was Friday and there was nothing much to do since we don’t have a Saturday paper.

Ahhhh, yeah, I can see that since you have nothing really that needs to be done and it sometimes can be easier to do in a space like that. 😀

Yes, especially when I am by myself for two hours on a casual day like that lol.
I love being on my own for two hours though cause it takes me that long to wake up sometimes.

Yes! So so temping to do it. And yes, this allows you to move at your own pace without the stress of everyone being around.
