A Monday Update (Where I Confuse Myself and Probably Others)

It’s Mondayyyyyyyyy, and I’m trying to force some excitement into here.

An Announcement

If you popped in over the weekend, you probably saw Book Princess Reviews, all nice and normal and looking exactly like it has for pretty much a year and half. Then you might have dropped in on Sunday afternoon and gone, WHAT IS THIS MADNESS. HAS MANDY AND SHA (MOSTLY MANDY SINCE SHA JUST SAID SHE LIKED THE CARROTS THEME and has not lost anything) LOST THEIR BLOG MINDS?

You may have asked yourself a few questions:

• where is that weird pink flower picture that mandy uses for everything?
• why are there all of these princess pictures that are all in the same Verve color layout from microsoft word?
• i feel like there is a new background that JUST WON’T STOP WITH PRINCESS PICTURES??
• why am i asking these questions in my head in bulleted list format?
• is this mandy just really talking to herself in her head and using us as an excuse to point out her updates?

What I’m really trying to say is that some changes have come to Book Princess Reviews. Sha, the amazing person that she is, pointed out that some ~improvements~ could be made, especially with the theme, and I saw the lighttttttttttttttt, as Rapunzel would say. It was a total tag team effort with Sha being such a pro with adding the little touches and fixes that might have been small but are just so easy and much needed. Thank you, Sha, and this should be our new website unless one of us goes crazy with princesses again?

Face the book

Sha has started up the Book Princess Reviews Facebook page…which was meant to happen, like, a really long time ago, but Sha will be running it now and she is going to be so brilliant. She is gonna be having some epic princess content on there, so you want to check it out, please do here! She already created the most amazing banner that has me dead and an epic profile pic, so I’m just going to be over here dying over the Facebook page (wait, is that weird since it’s technically for our blog?) This is weird. Just maybe check it out? D:

Also, what kind of content do you want to see on Facebook? Weekly questions, some epic quotes, pretty princess pictures, etc?

A Soul Screaming Addition

I’m not sure who quite came up with the idea first, but Sha and I agreed very quickly that we needed to do some sort of buddy read. We were first brought together by books and stories, so clearly this was the next logical step. I’m not really sure what books we share (and we’re clearly going to be finding out along the way), but we’re going to be starting with literally the book that first got us talking.

I’m not sure if anyone knows this book or not, but Sha and I both agree that this was a little iffy back when we were reading and super enjoying it so we can only imagine just how bad this is going to be when we look back at it. It has about five or six books in this series, so definitely be looking for our trashing reviews/look back of these books that we used to know and love. We’ll see if the fun continues (and if this book was nearly as good as we remember), but expect to start seeing these reviews/interviews/whatever format works the best for us in the next two week as we take on the classic Sha/Mandy series.

Sha also made me promise that I would not DNF no matter what, so, um, this should be interesting since you know me, the DNF queen.

And if it goes well, perhaps we might continue on with our shared books?

The Conclusion of an Era

That’s righttttttttttttttttttttttttt. I have ended an important moment in my life: the X-Files binge. I finishedddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd all ten seasons and I’m totally caught up on the two newest seasons. I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MUCH SUCCESS I AM FEELING.

I know thingsssssssssss. Like, I know know things. I’m not sitting there during this season going, but, like, when did these people die? Because I’m pretty sure they’re alive to ONLY FIND OUT THAT THEY’VE BEEN DEAD FOR TWO SEASONS.

But now I’m left with nothing to watch in my spare time? I’ve already binge watched all I could of Riverdale. I’ve binge watched The Secrets of Crickley Hall (WHICH WAS SO MUCH FANTASTICNESS. I AM DEAD…LIKE EVERYONE IN THE SHOW.) And I tried this show Ghosted and wasn’t feeling it so much.

So now I’m stuck in I don’t know what to watch land….other than to start all over again with The X-Files and continue the neverending cycle. The Neverending Storyyyyyyyyyyyy of Mulder and Scullyyyyyyyyyyy. (omg, this is going back to Book Princess Reviews circa Oct 2016 with the forced humor nonense. i am sorry.)

Currently Reading?

Eh, I’m not. I’m stuck. I’m at the reading stage where there is simply too much to read so I get confused and want to read everything and then end up reading nothing?? My Goodreads Challenge really has become a competition literally with myself so I’m binge reading all of these graphic novels to shove it to the goal that I literally created?

HOWEVER, I’m currently reading American Panda by Gloria Chao and lovingggggggggggggggggggggggggggg it. So much adorableness and funnies and just so much cuteness.

I also started the Magnus Chase series, but I’ve read like 9 pages when my mind was blown that Magnus and Annabeth are related (lol LITERALLY RIGHT IN THE NAME), and had to set the book down BECAUSE IT WAS TOO MUCH?

I think that’s all I got for this Monday, and totally realizing now just how random this all was. I just really wanted to let everyone know more changes might be coming and to be readyyyyyyyyyy (because I’m surely not).
