Halloween is just about a week away, and truthfully, I’m not much of a Halloween person although I do enjoy a good Halloween themed thing. So, of course, I’ve been jumping on all the Halloween tags. I would like to thank the wonderful Emmie @ teawithmermaids (um, how epic is that blog name?) for tagging me for this! If you haven’t checked out her blog yet, please do because she’s not only an awesome person, she has some epic bookish and other posts! Check her out here!

Witches : A book or character that is magical
I love a book that has some magic. Magic is, well, magical (real astute there, Mandy). A recent magical book that I really enjoyed recently was The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo. The stories themselves were magical and the artwork with them were brimming with beauty and their own particular power.
Mummies : A book or character you can’t wrap your mind around
Warcross by Marie Lu was a book that kind of messed with my mind a bit. Not only did I not think that I would enjoy this as much as I did but I really did not see one of the major plot twists coming. I definitely was pretty surprised by this book and I still can’t wrap my mind around that.
Vampires : A book, series, or author you can’t live without
*cough, Marissa Meyer, cough cough*
Werewolves : A book best read in the middle of the night
Okay, to read in the middle of the night to scare the crap out of me or to allow me to have happy dreams? XD I guess we’re going to go with scare the crap out of me. Little Monsters by Kara Thomas was a really good creepy book that I read recently, and it was the perfect book that to read in the middle of the night…except when I had to run super quickly by all the open windows. But thankfully it wasn’t too scary, so it really is a good one to read in the middle of the night.
Zombies : A book you picked up for the 2nd time/Continued after DNF’ing it
Once I set a book down with a DNF, I rarely pick it up again. There are only two times that I have done that before, and both them had been situational DNFs. The one that ended up working out pretty good is actually A Court of Roses and Thorns by Sarah J. Maas since I ended up loving the second one.
Ghosts : A book you easily predicted a twist or ending
Well, since I am thinking about the other book that I DNF’d and came back to, I might as well use it for this one. I totally predicted Stalking Jack the Ripper’s killer the moment he/she appeared on the page.
Frankenstein : A book that truly shocked you
Never Apart by Romily Bernard! I did not expect really too much from this book, but it was super impressive. My review will be later on in the week, and it’s super good!
Skeletons : A book or character that chilled you to the bone
Welcome to the Dark House by Laurie Faria Stolarz. This book mentally scarred me. That’s enough said. But I also really enjoyed it?????
Ghouls : A book that left you hungry
Ummmmmmm, nothing really, but I guess Heartless made me want to bake, so will count that?
Goblins : A greedy character
Can I count the characters of Six of Crows? Because I mean, this is a tag on Book Princess Reviews, and it would just be WRONG if I didn’t mention the little crow babies once in it.
Devil : A dark, evil character
Levana from The Lunar Chronicles. Crazy evil Lunar queen got issuessssssssssssssss.
Grim Reaper : A character you loved/hated that died
Spoilers, but let’s just say, that one person in Crooked Kingdom.
Scarecrow : A book or character that scares you
Welcome to the Dark House. Again. I am still traumatized.
The Monster Mash : Tag 3 or more people to do this tag
I LOVE THIS, THOUGH. SO SO CLEVER WAY TO TAG. Anyway, I’m tagging in the nicest way possible – so feel free or don’t feel free to do it! 😉

Great answers! (Although I am a little saddened that Halloween isn’t your thing.)

Thanks, Kyera! I blame my childhood for lack of Halloween cheer. I would get so much anxiety from going trick or treating and I had braces for a million years so I couldn’t eat much of the candy. Are you a big Halloween lover?

I don’t even care for candy (although I too had braces for yeeaaars), I just love the atmosphere and the costumes. (I mean I’m no longer a child and I cosplay, which is basically just being in a costume so….) I decorated the inside and outside of the house for Halloween, and I always go to haunted houses/hayrides. I’m still searching for one that will scare me.

Oooooooooooooooooh, I will tell you that once you start The Lunar Chronicles, it’s so hard to get out of it. It totally becomes a lifestyle. XD But Heartless was pretty well done. 🙂

I have mixed feelings thus far. I’m not far in, but…let’s just say the description I read mentioned an autistic boy being accused of a murder, and people trying to clear him…but so far, they haven’t mentioned autism or any spectrum disorders at all, even though he does have a few characteristics. I hope it gets better.

Huh. That seems quite odd. I hope it gets better soon, too, because that doesn’t sound quite good right now.

Fun tag and excellent book choices! I think my fav story from Language of Thorns was the mermaid one. That was a pretty stunning story.

Thanks so much, Krysti! ❤ The graphics were SO SO SO pretty for that one. I will admit the story's content were my least favorite, but I mean, Ariel is your favorite, so I can see why. 😉

I listened to the audiobook, so I really need to actually open my hardcover and look at these graphics you speak of. That’s super funny it was my favorite and your least favorite. LOL. XD

But yes! It really is quite stunning. And if you enjoyed it as much with your audiobook and not with the pictures, it’s a testament to how good she is. But yes, so funny! XD
