The Ultimate Vacation Book Tag

I’m still in the non-believe that August will be ending very, very shortly. And when August ends, well, it’s a slippery slope to fall and autumn. Vacations, most likely, are done in summer, so I thought, well, I clearly need to get my book on the Ultimate Vacation Book Tag. I was tagged by the wonderful Rendz @ Reading With Rendz. If you haven’t checked out her blog already, trust me, you are missing out. She is so ridiculously nice, has some of the best reviews, and so understands the fandom life. If you’re looking for a new epic book blog to follow, she is your book blogger gal! Click here to find out more!

It’s the dead of winter and you are escaping to a tropical location. Hours in the sun with a book are on your “to-do” list. What book do you bring with you?

A Short History of the Girl Next Door! I’ve been meaning to read this book for a while, and contemporary always fits so very perfectly for the summer. This book is supposedly super fun and hilarious until it gets…well, super tearjerky, so I’m intrigued. And if I start bawling too much, I can just run into the water to hide my tears?

You see the first signs of spring and your heart beats faster with the thought of warmer days. You are escaping for a nice cruise to herald in the warm weather. What book do you bring to accompany you on the decks of the ship?

I’m going to steal Rendz’s answer for this one. I definitely think Daughter of the Pirate King is in order to be taken. I mean, I want to read about a pirate ship while I’m actually on the high seas and on the ship. I think it would be so much fun to look out at the water while reading about Alosa going off to fight in the sea.

Summer has arrived! You spend your weekends camping in the mountains. Fresh air, trees, animals, and campfires keep you company on your outing. What book do you bring to read next to the sound of the flowing creek?

Sasquatch, Love, and Other Imaginary Things! This is such a perfect camping book. Its set in the woods with a folklore based storyline.  It’s got the funnies, a brilliant setting, and so much more. Plus, I need to be prepared to know what to do in case Bigfoot pops out of the woods for me when I’m camping!

Fall is approaching. Nothing makes your happier than crunchy leaves turning red and orange and purple. You bring a book to the local park to read on a bench under the whispering trees. What book do you read?

summoner

Summoner by S. D. Grimm! This book has the fall, spooky feel to it, and I’m so ready for the crunching of leaves, warm fall colors, and Halloween. It’s full of ghostie goodness and I definitely would want to read this during the fall season.

Christmas is in the air. Lights, and carolers, and shopping. You want to curl up next to the fireplace with a good book that reminds you of comfort. What do you curl up with?

my new crush gave to me

My New Crush Gave To Me by Shani Petroff! I’ll definitely be grabbing a copy of this book this coming Christmastime. It sounds adorable and super Christmasy, and I read her other book, Romeo and What’s Her Name and it was oh so adorable. I definitely can’t wait to see what this book has in store for the holiday season.

Winter lasts sooooo long. You need something to remind you that the sun will come out again. What book to you read to take you away on the vacation you wish you were going on?

A Map for Wrecked Girls. Okay, I super don’t wish I was stranded on a desert island, but the island did sound super pretty…when it wasn’t trying to kill everyone. But it would definitely make me think of faraway lands and sandy beaches and hot temperatures.

I’m not tagging anyone, because I’ve been tagging quite a bit lately and I feel like I keep hounding the same people with them. XD Feel free to tag yourself, though, and let me know so I can check out the posts if you decide to do it!

What do you think? What are some books you would take on vacation? Let’s discuss in the comments below!

  1. What a fun tag! Your answers were fab, of course. I want to read that Shani Petroff, but I have sad news! I don’t think I’m going to get to read A Short History of the Girl Next Door this month! I had a few day slump, which we’ve chatted about, and I think it’s booted that one off my list. I grabbed a physical copy at YALLWEST, so I have to read the others with pressing deadlines now. Crossing my fingers for next month!

    1. Thanks so much, Krysti. I really think you will enjoy…whenever it can make it on the TBR. 😉 And oh no, lady! D: The slump super messed with you. D: Sorry that you got it and messed everything up. But yes! Hopefully it can sneak in next month, and I can worn you properly about how many tissues you will need. XD

      1. It sounds like it! It happens to everyone. No worries 🙂 I finished my September list today actually, and there’s just no way it’s making the list again anytime soon. To the backlist! LOL. 🙂

      2. Oooooh that’s amazing then! 😀 Totally works out in the end. Oh, I’m failing for September. I have no clue what I want to read. I’m thinking about doing some rereads, Wonder Woman, A Short History, and this other book called Murder, Magic, and What We Wore. But I have no clue what else so some major mood reading will be happening.

      3. Yes! Although I’m getting a bit overwhelmed because I have too many different options. Every time I’m like, oh, I could read this one or that one or that one. XD But thank you! You too! ❤

    1. AHahahahaha. That is such a brilliant way to look at it, Rendz. But the stress is kind of a part of actual vacations, too, especially the family kinds. o.o But sadly not feels and ships which is more brilliant. Yes! 😀

  3. I am really excited for My New Crush Gave to Me. I am reading it next week, and feel confident that it will delight me. Pirate King is one of my top 2017 reads and on my favorites shelf. So fun and I loved every second of it. I want to read Sasquatch so bad. Fingers crossed I can acquire a copy soon, because it looks like my kind of book (by the way – awesome picture!) I am reading Short History too. I heard I have to have tissues for that one.

  4. What a fun tag!! I’ve never actually read any of those books, but they all sound SO COOL. and on vacay, I would definitely take my already-tattered copy of Pride and Prejudice. ❤ for some reason, going on vacation makes me in a mood to read either classics or bloody thrillers. :')
