Basically, it’s where you fangirl/boy over anything – that’s right, each week you pick a different thing you’re fangirling about the moment and JUST RUN FREE WITH THE FEELS. Only rule? Just pingback to her post here! It’s so easy that it hurts. 😄

The X Files

I had always been casually interested in the X Files (if you haven’t caught on yet, I’m into anything supernatural/paranormal in the real world like ghosts, Bigfoot, and aliens – I’m the most interested sort of non-believer out there, I think XD). I’m not sure why I never took the big dive into The X File fandom, but I think this year has conspired against me to create a huge X Files fan.

First, I was astounded by the mini series that came back earlier this year. IT WAS SO GOOD I CAN’T EVEN PUT IT IN WORDS. Then I discovered a few old episodes and reminded what an astounding show it is. And then I discovered…there were YA books. That’s right – YA books showcasing the origins stories of my two favorite FBI agents. HOW COOL IS THAT?

It’s nagging me to read it since the moment I got it, but I wasn’t quite in the X Files mood. But I started it last night, and OMIGOSH, IT WAS EVERYTHING I WANTED FROM AN X FILE STORY AND MORE. OMG OMG OMG.

It was Fox Mulder at his finest. It showed so many little references to the original series with cameos from some of the characters. It showed the psychology. IT HAD ITS OWN INTRIGUING STORIES. OMG, I LOVED IT SO MUCH.

Which then prompted me to say, screw blogging, investigate where I could go down an X File spiral, and then watched one of their movies all while plotting when I could start reading Scully’s story. BECAUSE THERE IS ONE FOR HER TOO, AND SCULLY IS AMAZING.

So, now I’m back in the fandom life yet again, and there are like 10 seasons of X Files so I could be here for a while. Welp.

What are you fangirling about this week? Do you like the X Files? Do you know any good X File book adaptions? Let’s discuss in the comments below!

      1. Yes! I feel like it’s one of those shows that you say oh, I’ll watch it and then forget or never end up watching it. But I will say it’s quite easy to binge watch (since I accidentally ended up doing 7 episodes straight today XD)

  1. I’m so glad you loved this one so much! I’ve seen it around but hadn’t really thought about picking it up, since I haven’t watched the show. It sounds like it’s good without that though, so I might have to check it out. 🙂

  2. I’m not an X-Files fan but I love that you are! And that you’re into all the other supernatural/paranormal stuff too 😀 I had no idea there were YA books of it, though… There’s YA books about everything nowadays, I guess xD Makes me want to go watch the show now!

    1. Ahahahaha I really didn’t realize I was such a fan of all the supernatural things right until I put all of these things into blog writing. XD But you’re so right about books for everything. I can’t believe the amount of retellings there are going on. XD But it is a really good show. 😀

  3. I never watched the show when it was on, my mom probably wouldn’t have let me anyway (I wasn’t allowed to watch the Power Rangers) – but I actually started watching when I was in Guyana. Ironically enough. I always loved the book adaptations (is that what they sort of are? I don’t even know how to describe them) of shows like Charmed, Buffy, Angel, Supernatural, etc. so I may have to check out these books!

    1. Oh no! Not Power Rangers? Although I can’t remember much of them so I can’t tell if you missed anything or not. But huh. So interesting about the book adaptations. I’ve always been interested in trying them out, so I definitely need to try out more if you enjoy them so much. But yes! I super recommend because it was really nicely done.
