800 Followers: I AM SCREAMING + Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag

Right now would be the brilliant time for Mandy to get her butt over and understand how to use gifs, because I’m pretty sure some princess fainting gifs would be needed right about now.

Omigosh, I don’t even know what to say. Thank you so much, everyone. You’re literally all the best. Every comment, like, view, follower – I literally get so excited about. I’ve met some amazing, amazing people on here, and each one of you are too kind and so brilliantly creative. I’m so sad I didn’t jump into this community before, because you’re all so amazing.

I wasn’t sure what to do – I did a giveaway last time; I’ve done tags before; maybe one of those shout-out thank you to the biggest supporters of the blog (but then I get so paranoid that I will forget someone and then I would feel so terrible because I mean, I forgot someone D: D: D:) I wasn’t sure if it was time for the eventual q & a, and this whole thing snuck up so fast on me that I had no clue how to properly deal with it (except for obnoxious fangirl screaming). I figured maybe I would do a tag again so this post wasn’t all FOREVER SCREAMING.

Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag

Thank you so much to the wonderful Angelica @ The Book Cover Girls for tagging me for this! If you haven’t checked out her awesome blog yet, please do! Lots of bookish fun, fantastic reviews, and more! Thanks so much again!

How long have you been blogging?

poch
Pocahontas is upset that the Princesses didn’t make it until January and such on the blog. Oops. D:

Oh, gosh, since October of 2016…which was, what 8 or 9 months ago? I literally got 20 views that month, and I’m pretty sure that all of them were from my family and friends that I forced to look at it. XD It’s so crazy to think it’s been that long.

At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging?

When I have nothing more to say. XD I don’t think I have any set date in mind, but I think the moment it starts to become not fun anymore, then I think that’s time to call it quits.

What is the best thing about blogging?

Connecting with so many amazing people that know exactly what you’re going through – they understand the struggles of getting through a bad book or fangirling so hard that it hurts over an adorable ship or crying (or not crying) your eyes out over a particular feely part. They get the need to buy books and break your ban the moment you set it in place. They understand the mess that is your Goodreads shelves and how you’re absolute trash for Sailor Moon. It’ is being part of a community that gets all of those things that only one of your friends fully gets. Totally the best part.

What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?

TIME. My gosh, blogging is such a time-sucker. I always set plans for what I want to accomplish on here and next thing I know, it’s two hours later and I’m still answering all of my comments and haven’t made it over to blog hopping let alone writing my post I’m supposed to have up for tomorrow. It’s serious insanity. I’ve finally convinced myself that I don’t have to post every day. XD It’s really okay.

How long does it take you to find make/find pictures to use?

Lol, me? Make pictures? So cute, tag, so cute. If I’m using a cover of a book I haven’t read, not long at all because I find the book covers on Goodreads. If it is a book I have read, I’ll use my Bookstagram pictures, which takes me a varying amount of time because I either want it to look nice or eh, don’t care because I have no patience. XD

Who is your book crush?

Um, how long do we have? Days? Weeks? Years? Oh, just a few sentences. Huh. There are so many, though! I’ll give you a ridiculously small list: Logan from The Summer I Became a Nerd, Thorne from TLC, Kaz from Six of Crows, Duval from Grave Mercy, and Hudson from My Unfair Godmother. *wipes set from brow* That was tough.

What author would you like to have on your blog?

Leigh Bardugo or Marissa Meyer because I clearly am obsessed with their work. ❤ Simone St. James, Megan Miranda, and the fantastic duo of Sasquatch, Love, and Other Imaginary Things are close contenders as well.

What do you wear when you write your blogpost?

Um, whatever I’m wearing at the time? XD I don’t have a special blogging outfit, but omg, that would be so cool if I did.

How long does it take you to prepare?

It totally depends. If it is a book I’m totally excited about, it might not be long at all. If it’s a book I’m struggling with or a tag, it’s going to take me a lot longer. It usually takes 30 – 60 minutes for me to write a blog post.

How do you feel about the book blogging community?

Blog hugs for everyone! ❤

What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?

I love what Angelica said – just be yourself. The fastest way you’ll burn yourself out of blogging is not staying true to what you like and trying to be something you’re not. Don’t hide your inner fangirl/fanboy. We get it – we’re probably that way, too. And interact! If you like something, say it. I stayed silent for so long because I was a bit intimidated by everyone here, but once I got into the community, it was like having this wonderful world open up.

Tagging…

It felt a little weird to do tagging on something that was something of a thank you as well. I didn’t know what to do with it. XD So, if this seems fun to you, please do it and let me know, because it is fun little tag to talk about all the little things you do as a blogger.

One last thing…

Seriously, though, thank you so much for all of this, and I can’t imagine my life without blogging now. You are all the best, and I thank you all. ❤ Now, I seriously must go figure out how to stop fangirling screaming and move onto some other important items. 😉

    1. Thanks so much! It was interesting to go back and think about all the stuff we do as bloggers.

(And omgiosh, I just realized – did I ever answer you about your book o.o I think I just had a major flashback where I totally forgot to get back to you D: D: D:)

  1. Congratulations! You deserve 800 followers and the many more that are in your future. You’re also completely right about the best pert of blogging. My former friends would all roll their eyes and glare at me when I tried to talk about books, but I could always come on WordPress and feel welcome.

    1. Thanks so much, Moira! ❤ I truly appreciate it. And yes! This community just seems to get it and make everyone feel welcome for our love. Sorry your former friends did that to you :/ (because books are amazing and the only reason for glaring is when a book gets stupid XD) But I'm so glad we both found this community! ❤

  8. Congrats on your 800 followers! And I totally get what you mean about being intimidated. It took me a while too to really start being myself and doing and saying what I wanted and I am so glad I did. This is such a great community and I’m so glad I joined! Also, thanks for saying such wonderful things about my blog!

  9. Congratulations on 800 followers, and I definitely agree with time being the most difficult. I’ve hit the struggle bus juggling blogging and a new priority that I won’t discuss. I started using my blog planner again so I’m hoping to get back on track.

    1. Ooooh, that’s a really good idea. I’ve never thought about using a blog planner, but that sounds like a really good way to stay organized and time management. But yes, time is the worst part of blogging.
