Matt is desperately hoping that Tabby will reciprocate his feelings; but then Tabby starts dating Liam Branson, senior basketball star and all-around great guy. Losing Tabby to Branson is bad enough; but, as Matt soon discovers, he’s close to losing everything that matters most to him.

Humorous and heart-wrenching, A Short History of the Girl Next Door is perfect for readers who fell in love with All the Bright Places’ Finch or Stargirl’s Leo.

I found this book perusing around Netgalley, and I thought it looked like it could be a lot of fun. It kind of gives me vibes of something that could poke fun of a lot of tropes and cliches about the whole “girl/boy” next door storyline that is so prevalent in YA fiction. And I mean, I am totally into that cliche as well – which could be another main reason why I requested this book – oops?

Also, I’m apparently really into reading books that make me feel lately. Ever since Eliza and Her Monsters totally ruined me for books that hit you in the feels, I’ve been wanting to pick up any books that offers to wrench my heart (i.e. last paragraph of this summary).
