Fight Like a YA Girl Tag

mulanFemale empowerment has always been a huge topic when it comes to the Disney Princesses, and it certainly has become a huge topic in YA. In recent years, I’ve really come to understand it in so many new ways, and when I saw Krysti @ YA and Wine came out with this tag, I immediately fell in love. Not only does it show strength is more than just kicking some major butt in the physical way, it is also in quieter ways, which is something that I, myself, hate to admit that I didn’t always realize. This tag is incredible and inspirational not only to young girls that are just starting to branch into YA and looking for some empowering examples but to those everyone that just want to see some fierce ladies. Can we change the words to “I’ll make a Woman out of you” for the day, Mulan? 😉

I was tagged by the wonderful Krysti (seriously go check out her blog, I can’t gush enough about it – YA PLUS WINE…HOW IS THIS NOT EPICNESS), and also the wonderful Sophie @ Beware the Reader. If you haven’t checked out her blog either, please do because it’s full of fun tags/meme, great reviews (YA, adult, and more!), and so much more! Plus, despite the “beware” in her title, she’s super nice. Check out both of their original posts on the links!

Now…let’s get down to business…not to defeat the huns, though, but to showcase some YA ladies that are strong as hell.

  2. Thank you for tagging me. Now I’m excited to finish exams so I have time to do this tag. I think Inej will forever be one of my favourite characters. I think I would love her even if she wasn’t as strong as she is.

    1. Ahahahaha, yes! Even though I hate on her a voice a bit, I had to defintiely include her in there.

But so agree! There are so many books out there. D: You’ll at least have fun catching up, though. XD
