This week I will be fangirling about…

Sense8

Sense8_Title

Has anyone ever heard of this show? It’s on Netflix, and while I see people fangirling and crying over shows like How to Make a Murderer, 13 Reasons Why, Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things, and more, I never see this show get a lot of love. AND IT IS WORTHY OF IT.

Here’s a description I got from Wikipedia to help us a bit:

Eight strangers around the globe find themselves connected — first by a violent vision, then by their shared ability to connect with one another’s thoughts and actions, and finally by the urgent need to find out what happened and why. Their need to know goes beyond simple curiosity — as they pursue answers, a mysterious organization hunts them down, intent on destroying them. The intense thriller is the first foray into television (or, more accurately, Netflix) for renowned filmmakers Lana Wachowski and Lilly Wachowski (“The Matrix Reloaded”), who created the series with J. Michael Straczynski (“Thor”).

Well, apparently don’t get too attached because IT WAS CANCELED YESTERDAY. *forever crying*

I DON’T UNDERSTAND, GALS AND GUYS. THIS SHOW IS MAGICAL. OMIGOSH, THERE IS AMAZINGGGGG REPRESENTATION, AMAZING SHIPS (OMIGOSH, KALA AND WOLFGANG ARE MY LIFE), AMAZING FILMOGRAPHY, AMAZINGGGGGGG ACTORS AND CHARACTERS, AND THE PLOTTTTTTTTTT – OMIGOSH DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE PLOT.

Ugh, the second season just dropped a bit ago, and I just finished the binge watching of it a few days ago, and my life is not complete. There are eight main characters and each of them are dynamically and complexly drawn. They are all my little babies, and the way that they interact with each other is amazing. And the ships? SO MUCH SWOON.

I CAN’T EVEN DEAL WITH THIS. WHY DID MY BABIES HAVE TO GO AWAY? WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME, NETFLIX?

Their story is so unique as well. Eight people in different points in their lives (one girl is in a Korean jail, another is a Mexican actor who is still in the closet, another a transgender girl hacker, another a German mafia member, etc.) all end up connected to each other, hunted by a nefarious organization and creepy guy named Whispers. Um, how does this not sound amazing? Each of these actors are brilliant at their job, and how the screenwriters connect each of the events and the way that these people just pop up at just the right time is masterful. MASTERFUL, I DARE SAY.

Ugh, I was so excited with the ending as well. Everything was getting super tense and amazing, and you knew the next season was going to be full of insanity and so much fun. BUT NO. It will be lost forever. *crying even more*

Oh, this is a sad Fierce Fangirl Friday. I’m going to miss this show that completely destroyed my fangirling soul – which I was totally fine with – and had some of the most amazing representation, acting, and writing on television. This fangirl needs to go cry in a corner now.

What are you fangirling/fanboying over this week? How do you feel when your favorite show is canceled? Have you watched this show? Let’s discuss in the comments below!

  1. At least this drama actually happened and you could go back to it anytime you need the feels! We haven’t watched this – but then again we don’t watched nearly enough as some people do!

      1. Ahhh but then again studying also stops us from reading all the books we want to read! Like even if we’re not studying – we would not read as that would be punishment for not studying! But yes – book lovers tend to watch less 🤓😉

      1. Well for onceI had higher expectations with Netflix… I mean, I know it’s all business too, but I hoped they wouldn’t behave like normal TV stations…

  2. My husband and I love the show so much that we keep playing What’s Up in the car. We’re both so sad that it has to be canceled. And with a cliffhanger at that. 😢

    1. Lol, yes! XD I agree. 😦 I just knew that season 3 would be all sorts of fun and craziness. I haven’t seen anything, but I’m holding out hope beyond hope that they’ll do like a movie/one episoide wrap-up kind of thing.

  3. I was shocked that they canceled it so soon after releasing season 2, and it seemed like so many people were talking about it! I’d just decided that I should give it a watch, and then got news it was canceled. Crazy.

    1. I was too! It was literally just released, and I totally thought that they would have waited a bit more to see the reception on it. I was shocked. but awh. It was such a good show, but it doesn’t end with resolution, so not sure if you do want to watch now. XD

    1. I KNOW. I KNOW. I KNOW. I super agree. There really is nothing out there like this, as you said, and the cast is brilliant. I’m with you as well. Just one more season or at least a two hour wrapup thing at the very, very least. D:

    1. Thank you, Rendz. I appreciate it. ❤ It was a very sad fangirl Friday indeed…especially because I meant to just be all excited about, went to google this to post the summary for the post, and then discovered the sad news. XD

  5. A conversation between my boyfriend and I the other day:
Him: Ahhh did you hear about the news of Sense8?
    Me: Whatcha talking about…?
Him: It’s bad news i”m afraid
    Me :NO
    Him: Yeah.
    Me: NOOO WHY nooooooOOOOOOO.
It’s been a few days since, but my heart still hurts and I understand what you’re going through. I was so in love with this show last season, and watching the second season I was crazy fangirling over anything that Lito or Wolfgang did.
It’s such a shame. It’s a beautiful show, with an incredible plot and such a diverse cast. I don’t know what Netflix is smoking, but they need to stop. 😦

    1. Ah, gosh, that stinks. I actually found out when I looked it up to get a summary for this post. Your boyfriend seemed to break it far more gently. XD But yesssssssssssssssss. I just keep thinking about all the what ifs. Poor Wolfie is forever STUCK. D: D: D: But it really is a shame. And soooo agree. 😉

    1. OH NO. Netflix is quite mean to do that to you. Have tempting shows, but not allow Jackie to watch them. 😦 But thank you. XD

BUT I KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. IT IS A GOOD REASON YOU DONT HAVE BECAUSE IT IS VERY UPSETTING. IT WAS A SAD FANGIRL FRIDAY.
