Hear Ye, Hear Ye! A Book Princess Reviews Announcement!

Hello there!

Today, I’m bringing you one of those wonderful ideas you come up with when you’re totally supposed to be thinking of something else. That’s right, instead of doing other blog posts that I’m terribly behind on, I came up with a whole new idea that just popped right into my head. But don’t you ever realize something is just too good of idea and lets you talk even MORE about your love of Disney Princesses? Yeah, I had to share.

So, my plan is that every Saturday, I will be bringing you a new Book Princess Reviews segment (event, tag, series? I’m not sure, let’s just go with segment) where I will showcase an epic Disney Princess and talk about what books she would be reading if she was, you know, real (of course, you’re still alive in my heart, princesses ;)). Anyway, it will be called The Princesses Read, and each week, I will bring 3 – 5 stories that I think each Princess would be gobbling up based on their interests, personalities, and more. At the end of each one, I will also be giving a few recommendations on where you can find more of their retellings or stories with super similar elements.

Want to know the very first Princess I will be showcasing?

*princess drumroll please*

tiana

Tiana! She is easily in my top 5 favorite princesses, and if you’re a follower of my blog, you know she’s a 5 crown princess all the time. She was the first one I came up with the idea for, and I just finished Frogkisser! by Garth Nix, so I’m thinking it was fate. This Saturday, I will be sharing what Tiana might be reading if she was here with us today in the book world!

Also, since you know there is a limited amount of “official” Disney Princesses, I will be showing some love as well for some of the other epic Disney leading ladies such as Megara, Wendy, Tinker Bell, Alice, and more. And shhhh…one non-Disney Princess might appear as well by the end of The Princesses Read.

So what do you think? Does it sound like something you would be interested? Do you think my Princess love has gone to new heights? Are you sick of getting more book recommendations? XD Let’s discuss in the comments below.

five-stars

I’m also bringing you another announcement today. Look at me, dual information sending! Anyway, it’s been a long time coming – mostly because I’ve been too lazy – but Moana is officially being added to the Princess rating system. That’s right – there is a new Princess rating that any books can receive…but to get a Moana rating, it’s gonna be a bit hard because she is basically the holy grail for this Book Princess.

moana headIf this book is getting a Moana rating, that means it’s the holy grail of books – it has me laughing, crying, and feeling so much my Book Princess heart will burst. It has a strong, fierce heroine, a crazy thrilling adventure, and some addicting songs…er, maybe not songs but probably some writing? I love everything about this book, and beg it to sing “You’re Welcome” to me daily. I will always love this book to pieces just like I do with Moana, and you will not stop hearing me praise it forever. To get a Moana visit instead of rating, it might involve some epic sea adventure or a splash in some uncharted, thrilling waters.

Yes, it is totally throwing me off that she doesn’t have a white background like my other Princesses do, but it’s just so pretty. Her look totally will be how dreamy I’m looking at this book, too, if it gets her rating.

And done! That’s it for this Book Princess today. Too much Disney Princess yet? 😉 Do you have any books that remind you of my Moana rating? Let’s discuss even more in the comments below!

  1. Ahhh! This is amazing! I am super excited for your princess recommendations! Saturday can’t come fast enough 😀
And I am obsessed with Moana (even if I haven’t seen the movie yet). How Far I’ll Go is such a great song ❤ Can't wait to see which book will be the first one to get your Moana rating!

    1. Ahhhhh yay, thank you so much, Jackie!! I really appreciate it.
Lol, oh, you will be even MORE obsessed with it after you see it. It’s sooooo good. The feels are soooo real. And yes, that is the best song for me. And yes, I’m interested to see too, since I’ve yet to find the one. :O

    1. Thanks so much, Kate! I really have no clue. It was one of those in the shower ideas that just come to you. XD But that would be super cool as well! (and lol, no worries about that but thank you!). But that would be super cool to read. 😀 😀

      1. I totally understand that! I’ve given up on tags for the time being. I’ve learned a valuable lesson about not over-requesting on NetGalley, so once I catch up with those I’ll have more time…I hope!

      2. Oh gosh, yes. D: Do you have a ton that will be due for May? But yes, hopefully…although Netgalley can always spring more on you at a moment’s notice. D: (That took a morbid turn to a hopeful comment. XD)

      3. Ooh, yay, that there is not more lurking. D: I keep forgetting about those looming in the background. And I’m actually pretty good on my Netgalley. :O I forced myself to stop requesting as well, so I’m doing so much better. But I feel like I will need to go on a binge after I get to 80% and then just cry all over again. XD

      4. Haha! I have yet to reach that golden 80% I’m always in the 70s. I do get some NetGalleys from book tours though, which does impact your ratio, so that’s probably why I just can’t get there!

      5. I got close the other day…only to be taken down again. XD I keep telling myself that I at least have some books lurking in the background, waiting to be reviewed. Oooh, I didn’t know that, though. That’s good. But also, yes, I can see why you can’t get there because of that. XD

      6. I hit 75% last night. SOOOO close! I’m finishing another one today, so fingers crossed I’ll be there. If not, I’ll be super close at least. I haven’t requested any, so now I’m just hoping not to have any wishes granted. LOL.

      7. Hahaha. Thank you! I just about threw my phone when I saw that 79%. Like, COME ON! And then I got approved for another one today, so I think I’m back to 72. LOL. Ah, well. I was close!

      8. Hahahaha! My Netgalley life is a soap opera! That is such a great description. It constantly taunting me with this 79% too. If I ever actually hit 80%, I’m having a freaking party. 😀

      9. XD Thank you! XD (but also very sorry XD). I find myself sliding back into the physical books, so I’m not requesting and am apparently DNFing a few. XD SO. But hopefully you will be soon!

        Liked by 1 person

      10. Hahaha. No need to be sorry! I haven’t requested in a while either. And I just finished one, so unless that one doesn’t move me from 79 to 80 then I’ll be there as soon as I post my review! At least for a second. I’m going to die laughing if I just stay at 79. 🙂

      11. Hehehehehe. Nooooooo, I don’t think it would matter about the percentage for that one. XD But yes, it’s like the moment you see a book you’ve been waiting and waiting for, it’s like, PERCENTAGE? NOPE. DON’T CARE.

  3. This is a great idea, Mandy! Your blog will have a lot more royalty going on now! And I like that you added Moana in your rating! I’m going to watch out for those books that has Moana ratings from now on because those books will surely land a spot on my TBR. 😀 I also love Maui’s song You’re Welcome! My statistics professor likes that song so much too that he sings it whenever it hits him while discussing. Haha! 😀 Great post Mandy!

      1. Oh, if you’re in his class, you won’t feel the stress of statistics. I swear his one of the best professors we have! He even let us dance Zumba before starting the class once. Haha! 😀 But still, we’re learning from him. 🙂

  4. I LOVE THIS NEW TAG OMG!!! Mandy, this was such an inspired idea, I can’t wait to read those posts! ❤
Moana became one of my favorite Disney princesses as well. I don't care what people say, she's so awesome and cool and adorable and I just adored the movie *_* Every time I listen to "You're Welcome" I just feel like getting up and start dancing! It's just so fun!

    1. Awh, thankies so much, Sophie!! ❤
YES. I literally just always put on blinders about anything negative with Moana because there is no questioning her epicness. And yesssss. I really don't thin Maui can sing at all, but the song just inspires so much happiness. XD
