Burn, Rewrite, Reread Book Tag

I would like to thank the wonderful Ava @ Reads, Rhythms, and Ruminations for tagging me for this. 1st, I learned there was a random option on Goodreads. Second, it’s a lot of fun. The Rules

• Randomly choose 3 books (Tip: Use the “Sort > Random” option on your Goodreads’ Read shelf.).
• For each group, decide which book to burn, which one to rewrite, and which to reread (a lot like Kiss, Marry, Kill).
• Repeat until you completed three rounds (or six).

ROUND 1

Burn: Bookishly Ever After by Isabel Bandiera I had soooooo many issues with this book. It made me very angsty. Definitely would imaginary burn since I would never actually burn.

Rewrite: How Zoe Made Her Dreams (Mostly) Come True by Sarah Strohmeyer. I loveddddd this book, but it definitely needed a bit more focus on the theme park and a few other minor issues that almost made this not a favorite for me. But it’s still epiccccc.

Reread: A Crown of Wishes by Roshani Chokshi. This book was sooooo beautiful. I loved every part of it – the characters, the world, the writing, the plot. I wouldn’t rewrite any of it.

ROUND 2

Burn: The New Guy (and Other Senior Year Distractions) by Amy Spalding. This book was so meh that I can’t even remember why I DNF’d. I figured it would be okay to imaginary burn this one. Into the book cauldron, you go…if only I could remember.

Rewrite: Kingdom of Ash and Briars by Hannah West. This book had sooooo much potential and the premise of Mulan and Sleeping Beauty together sounded simply magical. However, I never felt any connection and it just fell sooooo flat. I would definitely do some rewriting to expand on the epic premise.

Reread: Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins. This story was cute, fun, and even though it took forever for me to get on the hype train with this one, it was so worth it. Definitely a reread is in order at some point.

ROUND 3

Burn: Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins. I actually really liked this book and enjoyed it. It was funny, and I loved the main character. It does involve witches, so maybe they will enjoy the burning?

Rewrite: The Names They Gave Us by Emery Lord. Again, I loved this book, and it was so fluffy and adorable. But at parts, it did get a little slow and I definitely need to have a crack at that ending. I would totally rewrite that.

Reread: Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys. I lovedddd this book, and I totally need to reread this because I’m totally forgetting the epicness of it. This definitely was historical fiction YA done so right.

Okay, also, did you notice how all my books ended up with the same color scheme? I’m so impressed with myself and the Goodreads Random Sort function. Also, I just did three rounds, because I was afraid to mess that color scheme up. XD Priorities. Thanks so much, Ava!
