Dreamy Book Covers Tag

I was tagged for this wonderful tag by Tiana over @ The Book Raven, and it’s even more epic because it’s first ever original book tag! Trust me, for a first time, she created such a fun, cool tag, and I can’t wait to share it with you. Check out her post here, and the rest of her dreamy blog here! Heh, dreamy, see what I did there? Yeah? And it was lame? Oh, well, this is awkward. But seriously, check out her blog because it’s fantastic.

The Rules:

1. Thank the lovely person who tagged you, spread the love!

2. Mention me Tiana @ The Book Raven as the (insert adjective here) creater of this book tag!

3. Use the original tag image in your post. (However, Feel free to add whatever other graphics your heart desires!)

4. At least tag 1 fellow blogger for this tag. Even if your like me sometimes and feel a bit lazy 😉

5. List the rules

“No Ideas But in Things” A book cover that perfectly expresses the novel inside it

16230343_717072698469953_1122993785941262336_n

Princess of Tyrone by Katie Hamstead. The glass globe that is exactly on this cover plays a decently large role in it, and this cover has a perfectly sci-fi, fairytale feeling for me. Therefore, it = perfection.

“Dark and Lovely” A book cover that is so creepalicious you just want to eat it up

I literally have no clue what’s going on in this cover, but Shutter does sound really interesting and creepy. While I can’t say I’m super in love with it or anything, it does have some sort of entrancing quality to it. XD

“Sugary Sweet” A cute cover that is so fluffy you want to give it a hug

the-unexpected-everything

The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. DO YOU SEE THE DOGGIES AND ICE CREAM? It’s magical. And the colors are super pleasing.

“The Simple Aesthetic” A book cover that stuns with the most minimalistic of design

This Is Our Story by Ashley Elston just really has the deer and some shadows, but I just find it so creepy and riveting.

“Cover Envy” A book cover you wish you had on your shelves, but don’t yet

wild beauty

DO YOU SEE THIS COVER FOR WILD BEAUTY? I’m in love with literally everything about it – the font, the little gold girl, THE FLOWERS, THE COLOR OF THE FLOWERS. Everything. I totally knew I was going to buy this for sure just for shelf candy, but it also has an epic sounding story inside with some great diversity and magic realism.

“Traveling Abroad” A beautiful book cover featuring a country outside of your own

16906571_1442162635802062_2644939980132057088_n

Wellllllll, Luna from TLC is a country outside my own right. I just had to fit in a way to get TLC in here. 😉

“The Color Wheel” A cover that showcases one of your favorite colors

17437770_1294353823993167_3461932344259117056_n

I do love a good purple, and the purple in Geekerella by Ashley Polston sure is purty. See what I did there again? Do I just need to stop? Yes? Okay. 😦

“Switching Gears” A cover change you absolutely adore

Okay, there hasn’t been a cover change that I really, really like quite yet. One of the ones that I don’t mind is The Rose & The Dagger by Renee Aldieh. I still really like the first one (and it’s the one on my shelf so I’m a bit more partial to it), but I do like the colors and graphics on the change.

“Oldie but Goodie” A favorite cover of your favorite classic

rebecca uk

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier is one of my favorite classics ever – well, one of the few that I even actually enjoyed. I’m so not a classics girl XD But there is a special UK version that I want to add to my shelf so bad. It’s just so pretty! :O

“And the Winner is…” Which book cover mentioned above is your favorite?

It came down to Wild Beauty and Rebecca, but I’m going to have to say Wild Beauty is the winner. The flowers are just so insanely beautiful…although Rebecca has the perfect color combo. AH. Also, I may have a flower obsession I’m now noticing?

Tag…you’re it*!

*In the most polite way of course! Feel free not to do it if you don’t do tags/not feeling it/etc.

Rendz @ Reading With Rendz / icebreaker694 / Zuky @ Book Bum / The Book Nerd Dragon / Birdie Bookworm / Everything Under the Sun / Olga’s Oddish Obsession / The Book Cover Girls (psstt…they do have an epic giveaway going on here too)/

What do you think? What are some of your favorite book covers? Do you agree with my final selection as favorite? Also, do you enjoy doing tags? I had a mind tally of those that like to do tags to tag them in the future, and my mind has gone super blank so help me refresh? XD

TODAY IS THE FINAL DAY FOR VOTING – and then I shall be quiet forever on it. XD

Inej made it to the final round of Book Madness – trust me, I did not see that coming, and I can’t think everyone that helped her get there enough. You’re seriously the best, and maybe say hello to her again one more time? And then you’ll never have to have these weird little messages again for me at the end…at least about Book Madness…for this year. 😄 You can vote here for the final round, and check out my original post here. Thanks so much again!

  1. OMG that The Unexpected Everything cover is to die for! And I’m not even a big fan of contemporaries or people in the covers, yet this one is lovely.
The Geekerella cover was the whole reason I decided to read the book in the first place XD (big time purple lover here, too, and it was just so cute overall)
Ugh, it’s so hard for me to choose a favorite out of these… I love them all XD

    1. I totally agree about the contemporary covers. They almost always involve people just kind of standing there or a couple in awkward embrace and it isn’t as pleasing as some of the other ones. And it’s totally the fluffiness, right, Sophie? XD If only there were kitties.
And lol, yes! It definitely caught my attention too. And the cutnesss that followed was perfect.
And yes. It was so hard. XD

      1. Oooh, kitties would have just been the epitome of cuteness! I wouldn’t be able to handle it! Nor would my wallet XD
Fluffiness is what we want. Book people need to understand there needs to be more fluffiness injected into the world.

      2. YES. I think I’ve yet to see a kitty on a YA cover. Wait, maybe once in that series I never understand. But no groups of cute adorable kitties.
But lol, yes!! Just give us lots of fluffiness.

  2. Ahh BEAUTIFUL TAG! It’s all about beautiful books so of course this post was aesthetically pleasing! 😂 there are so many good books I need to read and them having beautiful covers is the best bonus! I see what you did there with TLC and I love it, accept it and endorse it. Luna is most definitely a different country 😉 picking the prettiest one must have been a tough choice, but you chose well Mandy *wise sounding voice* Thanks for the tag!!

    1. Thankies, Rendz! I kept getting so distracted by all the pretty covers. I’m like, Mandy, focus, you need to keep going and not stare at a cover for 20 minutes. But thankies with Luna. 😉 I had to try because there was no TLC or SOC fangirling involved and that was just wrong. But thank you. I appreciated the wise sounding voice.

      1. It’s easy to get lost in all the beauty! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I feel like covers should always be appreciated. So much work goes into them to make them beautiful for us bookworms. I’m glad you got lost!

    1. Yes! I really can’t decide which ones I like better, but they are both so pretty. Each edition they make keeps getting more interesting. And then she has The Flame in the Mist, too, which is insanely pretty. And that really is saying something. But thank you! 😀

      1. Ahhhhhhhhh. I can’t wait to see what you think!! I’ve seen so many rave reviews, and I’m 2 seconds away from pre-ordering, but I’m thinking I might need the Krysti stamp of approval first. XD

  3. The Shutter cover is deadly beautiful. It gives off that horror sensation! Wild Beautiful needs to be on my shelf as soon as the elves can deliver it to my doorstep. I wonder how much they will charge me since they live in the North Pole? HMMM. “Purty” are all the covers you chose! Great job, Mandy! Your now my guide on how to be perfect! Thanks so much for this tag because it looks like so much fun!♥️

    1. Yes! I definitely agree about Shutter. There is just something striking about it. And yesssssss to Wild. And it even sounds interesting too. Because I totally didn’t even care if it was good or bad as long as I could gaze upon it. But hmmmm…maybe just a few Santa letters? And awh, thank you, Olga. You are definitely my guide on how to be epically awesome. Can’t wait to see your answers! 🙂

      1. Wild cover is now going to be my lock screen and people can forever be in a trance if they eyes land on it! Shutter will be my Halloween lock screen so I can fully show my H.W spirit. Awe thanks, Mandy.

      2. Yesssss. they will never uncover the secrets of Olga’s phone because MAGIC. Oh, there is magic in that book so…magic must be real?? And lol, yes. I like it, Olga. Gotta change it up for the holidays in order to scare some people away and not just entrance them.

        Liked by 1 person

      3. Magic is real. There’s no question to it. I mean hasn’t everyone seen Halloween town yet? You know me, gotta scare people AT LEAST once a year. Sadly. *sigh*

      4. I love both! DEBBIE REYNOLDS. CHILDHOOD FEELS. OMIGOSH. I make a promise now should I ever be president their will be a national holiday dedicated to the magicy MAGIC. You think I can right something similar on the Bill of Rights?😂

      5. They were so good. Disney Channel used to have the besttttt Halloween movies. I wasn’t a big fan of Halloween but I lived for the 30 days of Halloween. Oooooooh I love it too. Can I be your vice pres??

        Liked by 1 person

      6. Oh yes. I remember seeing the Disney Channel colors change to purple and black! Each Friday new episodes from T.V. shows AND movies would air like Wizards of Waverly Place and Good Luck Charlie! MANnn, I miss those. Of course. I’d create an american flag with your name instead of the golden stars on it. It would look super professional.

      7. Ikkkkkkkkkkkk. There would be the epic new ones and then the epic old ones. I think my favorites were the Tower of Terror, the Halloween Ones, Don’t Look Under the Bed (which was soooooo not kid-friendly and kind of always traumatized me? A BOOGEY-MAN AND THEN THEY GET SENT TO A LABYRINTH LIKE PLACE), this ghost mine thing? and the phantom of the opera movie theater one. You can see how well I am with names. And yes, yes, it would be so professional. Olga is quite fancy.

        Liked by 1 person

      8. PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. You watched Don’t Look Under the Bed without having nightmares till today?! Ohhh at least you don’t mess up with people and their names. I refer to beings I don’t know like, “hey remember that guy with the face” and someone would respond, “Yeah and what about their neck? Didn’t catch your fancy?” Although I can say chocolate names in alphabetical order…

        Liked by 1 person

      9. Hehehehe yes! true, true, it is worse if you mess that up. It would be quite awkward if you didn’t compliment a person’s neck or even mention it. It could be a very nice neck. Ooooh yes you can. That is a very admirable trait.

        Liked by 1 person

      10. Well, if the person had a tattoo on their neck than I’d remember. I think. Let me never get the chance to figure that out cause I might say the tattoo was on his face. Really? My brother said I should never mention that or else I’m gonna be with thirty cats at a young age.

  4. Oh my gosh, this looks like so much fun! That cover of Shutter is so scary! And it looks like I can reach out and touch those flowers on Wild Beauty. Stunning!

    Thanks for the tag. 🙂

    1. It really is! If you look at it far away on Goodreads too, it’s just those bottomless eyes staring at you and I get so freaked out. XD And yes to Wild Beauty! It’s unfairly pretty and real looking.
And you’re welcome! Can’t wait to see what you come up with. 🙂

  5. Great post! And thanks for the tag and mentioning our giveaway! I love all those covers. The cover change for The Rose & the Dagger was definitely a good one. Usually, cover changes happen for the worse, this one though was much better, especially the one for Th Wrath & the Dawn. And I’ve never read Wild Beauty but that cover is beautiful. I have to add this to my TBR.
