Valentine’s Day Book Tag

That’s right – I’m THAT behind on book tags and awards. XD I failed miserably at getting this up on a timely manner, and therefore, I bring you Valentine’s Day in March…you’re welcome?

I would like to say a big thank you to Evy @ EvyReadsBooksBlog for tagging me! She has an amazing blog full of great book tags, reviews, and more! Plus, her instagram pics always make me jealous, so make sure to check her out here!

Now, onto the tag that we’ve all be waiting for…or not.

The credit for the tag goes to: CC’s Books.

Stand-alone Book You Love

the-other-side-of-midnight

The Other Side of Midnight by Simone St. James. I figure I got a get a little St. James love going first on the tag. Her works are always standalones but full of delightful ghostie goodness. Also, I apparently don’t read nearly as many standalones as I used to! D:

Dystopian Book You Love

Oh, um, huh. I really don’t read too many of these. Can I pass? D: Please? I’mma pass. Shhhhh… 😉

A Book That You Love But No One Else Talk About

you-were-here

You Were Here by Cori McCarthy. I’ve literally only found one other book blogger that mentioned having read it and enjoyed it. It hit me so hard in the feels, though. Such a fantastic read, and it totally deserves more book love!

Favorite Book Couple

*cough, Cresswell, cough, cough* But Kaz and Inej are also so amazing together. I even picked them for best romance in YA, so I guess you say they’re a favorite. 😉

Book That Other People Love But You Haven’t Read

I’m going to go with Evy’s answer on this one and say Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I FINALLY read A Court of Thorns and Roses and after a super bumpy start (a long DNF), I did hear the wisdom from all the wonderful bloggers out here, tried it again, and found it to be a much better read. So I’m definitely interested to pick up the Throne of Glass series now!

A Book With Red On Cover

17126205_317073512028183_1645129335163584512_n1

These Ruthless Deeds by Kelly Zekas and Tarun Shrinker! I haven’t stopped raving about this series for the past few days, and I’m just using this as another excuse to talk about it more. 😉

A Book with Pink on The Cover

17126297_603303466534383_4272748923371651072_n

Bad Blood by Demitria Lunetta! You may not be able to see it super well thanks to all the blurring I did on my picture, but it had some nice shades of pink on it.

You were given a box of chocolates. What fictional boyfriend/girlfriend would given them to you?

…Thorne from TLC. Heart eyes forever for that man.

You are single on Valentine’s Day. What book would you read? What TV show would you watch? What movie would you watch?

17077278_267283767015736_8641135893568028672_n

Well, on Valentine’s Day I actually read Operation Prom Date by Cindi Madsen, which was pretty adorable and cute for a Valentine’s Day read. And clearly, I would watch a Princess movie because TRUE LOVE. And ummmm…TV? Um, um, um, I don’t know a good romantic show right now. Eep.

Well, better late than never, right? And since Valentine’s Day was literally a month ago, I’m not going to tag anyone. However, if you’re good with celebrating Valentine’s Day in March, please go for it, since it was a fun, easy tag!

What were some of your answers for these? What books did you read on Valentine’s Day? Let’s discuss in the comments below!

five-stars

So, fun fact: Inej made it to Round 3 of Book Madness! Thank you seriously so much for all your help with this! Soon enough I’ll stop having these weird little ending sections where I awkwardly be a #bookpusher…but it’s more like giveaway and voting pusher. ANYWAY. There are more more epic prizes available this time :O Make sure to check it out here! And maybe say hi to Inej for me? 😉 Here is my original post here!

And also, I do have a giveaway going right now for my ARC copy of Gilded Cage by Vic James. Don’t forget to enter here if you live in the U.S.!

I loved reading your answers, and actually dotted down some of the books you’ve mentioned to read in the future😊
    Also, Thorne😍 all the way!

      1. The last tag I did was in November and it was Celebrating the Little Things, I wasn’t tagged to do it but at the time there was kind of a lot of negativity in the community. I haven’t done a tag since and don’t intend to do them again anytime soon.

      2. Oooh, that was a beautiful one, and I could definitely see why you did it with all the negativity. It definitely makes things a lot brighter. But I think it works. 🙂

  3. Better late than never! You can never be late with chocolate, actually, so never mind that. 😉

I did read You Were Here and reviewed it ages ago on my old platform, but sadly I didn’t like it much. 😦 I’m sorry I couldn’t share your enjoyment of it, though at least I’ve heard of it? That’s something, right?

On Valentine’s this year I was reading The Crown’s Game and a bit of The Crown’s Fate because I was at an event where the author was appearing.

    1. Lol, it does count!! Because at least I’m not the only one out there that has read it or at least heard of it. Sorry you didn’t enjoy it. 😦
And oooh, that’s awesome!! That is so the perfect way to spend a Valentine’s Day. Hopefully you had some chocolate, too, to make it even more perfect. XD

      1. Oooooh, I’m so jealous because that sounds like such an amazing Valentine’s Day. XD Candy and books – you really can’t ask for much more. And I’ve heard so many good things about Dylan’s specifically.

  4. Great post Mandy! And I’m also wanting to pick Throne of Glass. I think I’m gonna wait for you to read it and see your words about it before having my own. Haha! 😀 Oh and I agree with The Hermit Librarian, you can never be late with chocolates! 😀

    1. LOL, thank you. XD I tried. We should make it a thing, yes? Or probably just let it stick where it’s at. Probably best. XD But yessss! It’s a super sneaky series. You don’t realize how good it is until after it slams you in the face with amazingness.

      1. Omigosh, I know what you mean. I’m dyinggg right now through ACOMAF. Like, I love it, but at the same time, it’s so massive that I’m like, you’re almost too large. My TBR is calling. You were soooooo right, though. THIS BOOK.

  5. As they say, better late than never! And how could you have passed on a super adorable tag like this? You couldn’t! And the result was wonderful ❤
You need to read Throne of Glass ASAP! I loved the first two books but it kind of went a bit downhill for me after that. Long story, but I still hope you enjoy it a lot more than I did. I think you will, anyway. It's got royal-like qualities and some fairy tale vibes here and there 😛 Also, the romance is to die for. Many feels with that series, indeed.
Chocolates offered by Thorne? Hmm, not sure if I would completely trust them BUT they're chocolates so what's there to think about? XD *BIG CHOMP*

    1. Awh, thanks so much, Sophie! 😀 It was so cute, and for once, it was kind of easy. XD
And YESSSSS. I definitely need to get my butt on them. I’ve heard that from a few bloggers about how amazing it was the first two books and then…went meh. But hopefully I’ll be the outlier…although I’m usually not. But I’m going to try for April and steal my friend’s copy. XD
And lol, I know what you mean. I wouldn’t tryst there to be any chocolates left in there, but you really can’t pass up chocolate…
