Goodreads Book Tag & Giveaway

I used to be rather addicted to Goodreads. I would spend a massive amount of time there – looking for new books, reading summary after summary, researching books that I had read in childhood, and enter massive amounts of giveaways. I would be in about ten giveaways per day. It’s only fitting I tell you about my first giveaway on the Goodreads tags.

I was tagged was two wonderful bloggers to do this fun tag: Katlyn @ Everything Under the Sun & Zuky @ Book Bum Zuky. Both of them have fantastic book blogs, and I’m constantly adding books to my TBR on Goodreads because of them. Check out Katlyn’s post here and Zuky’s post here.

WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU MARKED AS READ?

a-thousand-nights
Credits to Disney Hyperion – why am I not surprised?

A Thousand Nights by E.K. Johnston! My friend showed me a video of one of the book bloggers she follows about UK vs US book covers, and this hardcover was SO gorgeous – especially underneath the dust jacket. I had to have it…so I officially had to put it on the TBR.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

This will probably have changed by the time that I have posted this since I might embark on a book binge tomorrow, but as I’m writing this post, I am currently reading: Myths of Mish by Katie Hamstead and Less than Charming by Rebecca Demarest.

WHAT DO YOU PLAN TO READ NEXT?

Oh gosh, I’ve been feeling super book moody with my books lately, and I’m kind of failing to keep to a strict book schedule. For ebooks, I will probably be reading Blood Rose Rebellion by Rosalyn Eves and physical book…yeah, I’m not quite sure. XD Too many look too tempting. I’m going to say The Shadow Queen by C. J. Redwine.

DO YOU USE THE STAR RATING SYSTEM?

For sure! Although I would much prefer if there were Princesses and crowns. 😉

ARE YOU DOING A 2017 READING CHALLENGE?

book-challenge

Yes and I feel like Goodreads is always celebrating me or intensely judging me.

DO YOU HAVE A WISHLIST?

Eh, around the holidays I do. Otherwise, just a list of books I like to gaze at and wish I had in my hands.

WHAT BOOK DO YOU PLAN TO BUY NEXT?

Hmmmmm…that’s a good question. I probably plan on buying These Ruthless Deeds by Kelly Zekas and Tarun Shrinker when it comes out or Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody.

DO YOU HAVE ANY FAVORITE QUOTES?

So many, but I read Caraval just a little bit ago, and I found this quote I’m super in love with:

Shades of the rich ruby love she’d felt during the game mixed with hues of deep-indigo hurt, turning everything just a little bit violet.

WHO ARE YOUR FAVORITE AUTHORS?

Marissa Meyer, Leigh Bardugo, Simone St. James, Megan Miranda, Leah Rae Miller, and Janette Rallison to name a few!

HAVE YOU JOINED ANY GROUPS?

No, but should I? I kind of get really confused by them, lol.

A simple but fun tag! Wanna be my friend on Goodreads? No? You’re only here for the giveaway? Well, isn’t this awkward? Here’s a link to my profile anyway.

Tag…you’re it!

Sophie @ Blame Chocolate / Rendz @ Reading with Rendz / The Book Cover Girls / Joana @ Bookneeders / thebookcorps / Whimsy Pages /

I tried to get some new people I haven’t tagged before in this one as well, but if you’re not interested, please feel free not to do as always!

What are some of your answers to these questions? And omigosh, are you shocked I didn’t use any TLC or SOC references? Be proud, because I surely am!

Also, maybe check out Book Madness which is going on now and have a chance to win epic bookish prizes while voting for epic characters like Inej from Six of Crows?

GIVEAWAY TIME

NOW…onto what you’ve all be waiting for…what you’ve scrolled down to see…a time due for epic parties and disco balls. What am I talking about? My first ever giveaway! That’s right, this Book Princess is pumped and ready to go!

15625175_184537632019090_1238083615095521280_nSo, I’ve been debating back and forth over what to do with my copy of Gilded Cage by Vic James. As you might have known if you’re a follower of this blog, I had some issues with it. If you’re new, I received this book via a Goodreads giveaway, and I DNFed it after a little while in. I tried for weeks to get into it, but I just couldn’t. It seemed too intense for me, who…is known for loving her fluffy books. HOWEVER, I still think a TON of people will like this book – and actually a LOT of people have and I’m quite in the minority – and it deserves to go to a happier home where it will be loved and cherished and not just sit on a dusty shelf. So, I’m giving away my US ARC copy!

One winner will win a copy of the ARC, and sadly, this will be US only because, you know, shipping- although a future giveaway won’t be so don’t worry, I will eventually have something epic for all of you!

So how do you win? Enter in the Rafflecopter link below and you could win! It’s going to end on March 20th @ 12:00 a.m. EST. Get clicking now and possibly win now!

Okay, I’m still new to Rafflecopter and adding its links to my posts, so if it is not working, please let me know immediately!!

Enter here for the Rafflecopter giveaway!

Here’s the summary:

Not all are free. Not all are equal. Not all will be saved.

Our world belongs to the Equals — aristocrats with magical gifts — and all commoners must serve them for ten years. But behind the gates of England’s grandest estate lies a power that could break the world.

A girl thirsts for love and knowledge.

Abi is a servant to England’s most powerful family, but her spirit is free. So when she falls for one of the noble-born sons, Abi faces a terrible choice. Uncovering the family’s secrets might win her liberty, but will her heart pay the price?

A boy dreams of revolution.

Abi’s brother, Luke, is enslaved in a brutal factory town. Far from his family and cruelly oppressed, he makes friends whose ideals could cost him everything. Now Luke has discovered there may be a power even greater than magic: revolution.

And an aristocrat will remake the world with his dark gifts.

He is a shadow in the glittering world of the Equals, with mysterious powers no one else understands. But will he liberate—or destroy?

What do you think? Have you entered yet?

  2. Thank you so much for tagging me, Mandy! This sounds like a super fun tag! 😀
A Thousand Nights is indeed gorgeous… Why are we so book vain? XD Our wallets won’t appreciate this…
And my goodness, you’ve read 30+ books so far?? That is insane! Congratulations! I’ve read, like, 5. LOL But hey, better five than none, am I right? (So underachieving, Sophie, tsk tsk…)
That quote is marvellous, by the way. Man, I have to get my hands on Caraval!
    Great post! ❤

    1. AND SOPHIE, HAVE YOU SEEN WHAT IS UNDERNEATH THE DUST JACKET? It’s like a galaxy of stars. It’s insanity…my wallet yelled at me, but I didn’t care. XD But lol, I really did realize I was a vain cover person with this one.
LOL, thank you, Sophie, but that is so true! 5 = awesome.
But yesssssssss. It was pretty well worth the hype. 😉

      1. No but google came to the rescue and OMG IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL!! I’m so disappointed when there’s absolutely nothing going on under dust jackets… It’s like “YOU LIAR!” But this one is pure perfection! *_*
Thank you! ❤ I'm excited to do this one ^^

      2. I KNOW, RIGHT? That’s 100% the main reason why I bought it. Too many books don’t have the cool undercovers and I’m really hoping more books will do it. And I super agree. Like, some books, they have a ridiculously pretty covers – and then it’s the most boring thing underneath and the pretty colors don’t even match. -_- ‘Tis very sad.
        😀 😀 😀

      3. Exactly! Ugh. Can’t a girl just have both quality writing *and* quality visuals? Is that too much to ask? I think not.
And deceiving us with illusions won’t cut it it, either! Just stop T_T

      4. LOL, I KNOW. I tell you. 😛 I think we need to write more letters, Sophie. First, to the evil genius authors that leave us with cliffhangers, and then to the book cover people that need to get their acts together. XD

  5. Great post! Thanks so much for nominating The Book Cover Girls! This looks like such a fun tag. And I cannot believe that you have already read 34 books! That’s crazy! My goal is only 60 books this year, college is killing me slowly and draining me of my reading hours.

    1. I can’t wait to see your answers for it! 😀 And lol, I’ve been very lucky this year, but I’m sorry for college killing you slowly. It really seems to do that. D: Hopefully some time will lighten up for you soon so you can squeeze some in somewhere! :O
