One Lovely Blog Award/Versatile Blogger Award

Look at me – dual blogging award it up in here! I’m apparently all about consolidating now. Yay me?

Anyway, I would like to thank three lovely bloggers for each of their nominations of me (that sounds so weird). First, I would like to thank Ava over at Reads, Rhythms, and Ruminations for the One Lovely Blog Award. She has just an amazing blog full of anime and YA book fun, and she’s such a super nice person as well! Check out her post here!

Sophie @ Blame Chocolate also nominated me for the one lovely blog award, and trust me, she has one herself! It’s a YA based book blog, but it’s filled with so much more. And she likes chocolate and cats – it’s perfect. Check out her post here!

I would also love to thank Olga @ Olga’s Oddish Addiction for the Versatile Blogger Award. Check out her blog post here – which was so much fun and shows her hilarious personality. Her blog is full of more YA bookish fun as well!

Since the rules are pretty much the same for both of the awards, I figured I would just put them all together in one blog post and you won’t have to suffer with fourteen random facts from me…or me yanking out hair trying to come up with that many too, lol. Anyway, let’s begin!

My Facts:

I used to have a game show addiction.

I grew out of watching kids shows really early on as a kid, so why all my other friends were still watching Disney Channel shows and Nickelodeon, I was watching Law and Order and game shows. I had no real clue what was going on or why I was drawn to them, but I was so interested. A bunch of game shows are becoming popular again, and the addiction might be getting real again. Help me.

I used to also really be into soap operas as well. Like the super cheesy ones.

Yeah, it was problematic. I was the ten-year-old watching soap operas and game shows. I’m not sure if I really understood what was going on or I realized this was probably not the smartest thing for me to be watching. But I would have to watch all my soaps when I got home from school. XD What’s weird is that I used to love the melodrama on these shows, but I now hate it in books?

snow-white
So sorry, Snow.

I really don’t like Snow White.

Like, as the Book Princess who loves Disney Princesses, I clearly should love all Princesses, but I’m just not a fan of Disney Snow White. Like, I actually like the Kristen Stewart Snow White than the Disney version. And I hate myself a little bit for it? XD I do get into Snow White retellings, though. I think mainly it was her voice I didn’t like.

I’m so distracted by Now You See Me 2 right now that I’ve lost all focused (focus but I think that totally illustrates my point).

Like, magic just blows my mind, and I get all confused and things, and this series just messes with me. And Dave Franco is a total cutie.

By now, I totally thought that I would be reading adult – or big girl – books.

And it’s totally messing with me that my predominant reading genre is YA – but I’m still loving every second of it.

I could live on chicken strips.

I kind of do, too. They’re terrible for my health but so delicious.

Shhhhh…but I DNF’d every Harry Potter book I picked up.

I always tried to read them after I watched the movies, but I never wanted to go back and read the old ones – because I saw the movies and I totally knew what had happened, right? I was a kid. It seemed logical. Anyway, I never got through them because I was super confused on what was going on and always died out on them before the next movie came out. Eventually it will happen – I think.

Those are my facts! Thanks so much to Ava and Olga – and please go check out their wonderful blogs! Now for my nominations who I chose from some of my recent followers, commenters, and more – but all lovely bloggers nonetheless!

Rendz @ Readingwithrendz / Nadwa @ painfullyfictional / blurblessbookblogger / Annike and Zoe @ TwinTalesBookReviews (literally all of my comments disappear from your blog btw XD) / Syc @ The Lit Mermaid / The Mundane Teenage Life / amysbookcorner / Kester @ LILbooklovers / WhereBookAddictsMeet / desrandomthoughts / bookbumzuky / Tiana @ The Book Raven / Victoria @ Carton-Manette-Darnay / Eva @ Brilliantly Bookish / thesassygeek

Now, since I did a combo post, feel free to do one or both of them (both…one…neither, up to you)! I know some of you have been nominated for one or the other in the past, so…yeah! It’s also another opportunity to just show some blog love. Now, I’m off to go binge watch the rest of this movie!

  1. I can do a perfect Disney Snow White singing impression lol, you’d hate it! Your chicken strips fact made me think of that vine of the guy in the car :’) Thanks for the tag Mandy!! I don’t think I’ve done either of these so I’m gonna do both, yay! 🙂

    1. Ahahahahahaha oh gosh. I would be super impressed though! She isn’t your favorite is she? I don’t want to hate on your favorite XD you’re very welcome! I think I saw your post up (yay!) and I will definitely be checking it out In little bit! 😀

  2. Lovely post 😀 I loved it and thank you for tagging me in doing this. I think I have already done the Versatile Blog award, but I will have to double check that :d But will definitely do the other one 😀

  3. Yay a dual post! A law and order fan?! YES. Who’s your favorite or at least back then who was? I’m Detective Benson but you gotta love ADA Rafael Barba. I definitely agree on not liking the melodrama in books but soap operas- I’ve never watched any so I would be no classified expert. Oh Snow White isn’t the fairest of all then (DISNEY JOKE HAHA). Ummm let me stop myself there before I say more ridiculous stuff. Have you seen Dave Franco’s polaroids on Instagram? Might I say, WOWZA. YA lover till the day I no longer like chocolate thank you. I don’t think you will ever catch me reading “Adult Books” for another millennium or two. You see you will be able to live off chicken strips if I don’t gobble them up all first… I’m sure many have done that with the series and it does make sense since your meant to be surprised when reading. Loved reading the excellent facts! This dual post was amazeballs.

    1. Benson and Barba are amzinggggggg. I was a Stabler lover although he was so problematic. But Finn is amazing too. Every weekend is aha Law and Order SVU marathon at my house still.lol your Disney joke was amazing (A+++), and I’m so sad I didn’t think of it. And omg noooooo, I will have to hunt down these Instagram pics! Lol, yes, we will both be eating chicken strips and reading YA together – yay! XD and thanks so much, Olga! And thanks for the tag in the first place!

      1. Yea I really missed Elliot BUT when Amaro came in there was less tension so I thought maybe it’s for the best. LUCKY. I usually just have a binge night on Friday with the episodes. The William Lewis ones always got me aggravated. AW THANK YOU. I try what can I say. *flips hair* *coughs up a hairball* Still classy eh? Don’t worry you’re already the master on everything princess. You need too! Dave Franco did it justice. Yes! It’s the perfect book club night but I might sneak in some chicken nuggets that way I don’t devour the chicken strips under five minutes…😊No problem Mandy and thanks for being awesome!

        Like

      2. There was less tension for sure, but I was sooooo not a fan of Amaro. XD im not sure why. I do like the new guy. I can never spell his name right. XD omg, yes, I hate the William Lewis ones. And lol XD and ahaha. Do you know it’s actually been forever since I had a chicken nugget? I eat chicken strips all the time but no nuggets. XD much sadness. And you too!

        Liked by 1 person

      3. It’s fine! Amaro was okay. I just went along loving Carisi. Rollins seriously ticked me off for some reason. WHAT NO. You had to have a chicken nugget at least last month or even yesterday?! I guess I will excuse you because your a chicken strip lover.😂

        Liked by 1 person

      4. YES. I don’t like Rollins. She just seems…I don’t know. I agree that I just don’t feel her. But I hated Carisi at first, but now I kind of love him? I think it was the moustache at first. XD Ahahahaha. I’m not even sure why. I just always gravitate to the strip? XD But thank you for the excuse. XD

        Liked by 1 person

      5. The only reason I dealt with Rollins or even begun to is because she had a baby. Babies are adorable and my weakness!! Aahh the mustache. What some guys believe to be the sign of reaching ‘manhood’.😂 If you ever need excuses for when your in trouble or on the cusp of being thrown into danger, I’m the gal you call for believable idiotic but useful excuses!😆

        Liked by 1 person

      6. Her baby is really cute, so yes, I could see that. XD She has gotten better with the baby indeed. And lol so true. XD It made me begin to think he was one of the bad guys with it. XD And lol! I will definitely remember that for future need. XD

        Liked by 1 person

      7. If something happens to that baby I’m starting a petition to band the negative effect writers create.😎 Carisi, a bad guy? OMIGOSH.😂😂 I feel like the worse thing he’s done is forgot to say ‘bless you’ when his mother sneezed but I see your point. Mustaches give off that vibe!

        Liked by 1 person

      8. YES. They did that so many times with Noah, too. It gets too scary on that show sometimes. XD But yes! It was the mustache that scared me. But now we know him – you’re so right. He’s a total cuddle bear. XD

        Liked by 1 person

      9. AW NOAH. He’s the cutest little baby boy. *fangirls* I agree but that happens when the writers are having a bad day and want to take it out on us. Detective Tutuola(did I mess up spelling his name?😅) is a cuddle bear while Carisi is a favorite pair of sunglasses!

        Liked by 1 person

      10. YES. Every time he gets on, he’s still that baby chubbiness and I’m like, YOU’RE SO CUTE…but you’re on so I can’t be too happy because something could happen. Ahahaha so true. And I think you did? I just always call him Finn since I always mess up the last name. XD

        Liked by 1 person

      11. IKR but when they show him in the last minute of the episodes I’m just like, “Okay. Okay. Good. Good. Nothing is gonna happen.” *needs oxygen tank* I completely forgot I could call him Finn! Omigosh. I just disgraced all L&O SVU fans.

        Liked by 1 person

      12. Ahahahaha. Ik. I never trust when they take him to the park. Like, too many things can go wrong in a park. And lol! They will forgive you I’m sure, since you knew how to spell Karisi’s name so well. XD

        Liked by 1 person

      13. I get it. Ever since those horrible park scenes I promised myself my children will have to make the most of the backyard. AAA CARISI! Yes I guess your right but you never know!

        Liked by 1 person

      14. 😂😂Agreed. I wouldn’t trust the beach either. I don’t need them finding dead bodies disposed by a serial killer. I don’t want to put that in their baby album either.😆

        Liked by 1 person

      15. I mean I can always get one of those green screens and make my children pose so when they grow up they’ll think they went to the beach at least ONCE. You see I know it has but I can’t pull away… OH WELL!

        Liked by 1 person

      16. Ahahahaha omigosh, yes, I love it. Or you could get those virtual reality glasses for them? Totally make them think they were there. Maybe even just throw some pales of water on them every once in a while?

        Liked by 1 person

      17. Oh yea! I forgot those even existed… (hoping now I don’t forget my kids somewhere). A pale of water? Perfect.😂😂 I was thinking of throwing them in the pool with their glasses on but your seems like a kinder approach.😅

        Liked by 1 person

      18. Ahahahaha oh gosh. I could forsee some SVU things happening in the pool, so yes, pales seem somewhat kinder. XD But yes, hopefully kids will not get forgotten in oblivion. But I feel like they would get on the level of chicken nuggets?

        Liked by 1 person

      19. Your right! What was I thinking?! I’m just gonna put them in the bath tub and make seagull sounds. AAAAA I promise nothing to them then…hehe. If they don’t then that’s how I know those definitely aren’t my kids. The worse thing would be if they told me they liked apples over chicken strips!

        Liked by 1 person

      20. Gosh I know… What can I say? Every once in awhile I get the best ideas EVER. 😉They better and if that Wildcats high school musical song doesn’t help, I DON’T KNOW WHAT WILL. You better triple check your children’s food choices as well!

      21. That’s right. You better band ice cream from entering the premises but you gotta save some also for when your on your lonesome. Ice cream is brunch in my book.

    1. You’re welcome! And thank you very much! And yay for the HP thing. In the book blog community, I feel like I’m the only one sometimes and i feel so left out XD but I’m glad Im not alone! Do you ever think you will read them?

      Liked by 1 person

      1. I remember being super confused with HP too 😂 I actually read the first 2 books when I was very young and I have the vaguest memory of them. I keep telling myself that I’ll read the other books someday but it just never happens haha. (Actually I just watch HP movies over and over again because it keeps showing on TV!)

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Ahahaha oh dear. Maybe new books came and pushed them away? I super agree about the movies. I would go along with it but it still was sort of confusing. I did have an expert in the house that helped but still. XD maybe the confusion helped not reading more too, lol?

        Liked by 1 person

      3. I wasn’t much of a reader when I was younger..🙊so that probably explains why I didn’t finish the series years ago. Yeah! I think you probably need to read the books in order to truly appreciate the movie. At least you had an expert to guide you haha! I was so clueless when I watched Deathly Hallows Part 1 in the cinema

        Liked by 1 person

      4. Ahhhhh gotcha. That makes total sense. And oh gosh. Yeah, I feel like that was the one where it got super intense and you needed some guidance with stuff…although I think I did that for a lot more of the movies. XD But you can’t really ask questions during the actual movie too. D:

        Liked by 1 person

      5. yeah that’s true, I was so confused about the Hocruxes and all 😂 I think I was quite lost during the Order of the Phoenix too. Glad that I’m not the only one who finds the movies confusing haha!

        Liked by 1 person

      6. Ahahahaha no. I remember always pausing them while watching them and going, wait, what was that? XD All I knew there was jellybeans that weren’t called that and that’s about my only firm understanding.

  4. This was hilarious Mandy! My family watched a lot of novellas when I was a kid (spanish soap operas) which contained a lot of content kids should not be watching! Chicken strips are delicious! I have never watched Snow White and frankly it doesn’t interest me. I’ve never read Harry Potter, I’ve only ever seen that very last movie! So I understood nothing! I’ve never had much in reading them either. Thanks for the nomination and this was a great post, Mandy!! 💖

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Omg, yes, I know. Me and my one friend would occasionally watch a few of the novellas and yeah, no, not very kids oriented. Did you Watch Rebelde? I’m pretty sure that was how it was spelled. Chicken strips are the besttttt. And yeah, Snow White is just….I would stick with the no interest XD and yay about finding another non Harry potter person! I always feel so left out. We can be non hp lunar fanatics together XD and thanks so much!

      1. Lol yes, I do remember the songs being good. I think there was a cute guy in it that was our main motivation for watching it. But my friend and I felt so epic for watching it. XD and yayyyyyy!!

  5. Thanks for nominating us! And great idea dual posting! I’m going to have to do that since I’m so far behind on awards and tags! (I blame school and homework for this!)
I actually had a Jeopardy addiction when I was younger! I would watch it every single day… until it got old for me. Now all I watch is Fresh Off the Boat and Shark Tank… and Designated Survivor is coming back on!!!! I’m so excited!!!
(P.S. I have read the Harry Potter books and liked them, but I don’t think I’ll be re-reading them. I am part of the fandom, but I’m not one of those big HP fanatics that read it again every year! 😅)

    1. You’re welcome! And yessssss. I’m finally starting to catch up, and this one helped a lot by posting a few. Hopefully it will help you! But yes school and homework are perfect to blame for it.
Ahahaha Jeopardy can get pretty addicting. I would never know the answers which wouldn’t help. But shark tank is awesome so I can understand!!
Ahhhhhh gotcha. Good to know there are different HP lovers and that you did enjoy! 😀

      1. A good way with breaks is to do all your posts on one day and schedule them later! That’s what I do on my weekends so I wouldn’t have to worry about them on the weekdays! 😉 And Fantastic Beasts is so good!!!!!! I love it!!!!

        Liked by 1 person

      2. Yes! I try to do that as much as I can. That way I don’t have to worry about it too much if I’m bogged down with other stuff. Great advice! And ahhhh I will definitely have to check it out when it comes on DVD then! 😀 it seemed like it had such a cool setting.

    1. Oh goodness what soaps didn’t I watch, lol? My favorite and the one I stuck with the longest was General Hospital. I did watch One Life to Live, All My children, Days of Our Lives, and for a short time, The Young and the Restless. The first three were the ones I really watched, though. Do you watch soaps, Birdie?

      Like

      1. I watched ABC soaps almost all my life. My mom watched them, back when Loving was still on. Then I carried on. General Hospital has always been my favorite, and even though I don’t watch regularly anymore I still follow all the gossip online so I always know what’s going on. They’re like an obsession!

        Liked by 1 person

      2. I always found that ABC had the best soaps. They were so addicting. I don’t watch it anymore but occasionally I will see it on and get super interested in it again. I was always a big Jason and Sam fan and when Steve Burton left, it was kind of the end for me. Who were some of your favorites?

        Like

      3. Oh man, I haven’t watched since Steve Burton left either! He is the ONLY Jason. I liked Jason and Sam too, but I actually loved his friendship with Carly more. I love how long their relationship has spanned and how devoted they were to each other, as friends. Not to take it back to far, but I loved early Liz and Lucky too. And I love Sonny and Carly. I definitely love the slightly more twisted couples, haha.

        Like

      4. Yes! It just wasn’t the same after he was gone and then they got that new guy and it just threw me. I couldn’t do it after that. I literally couldn’t think of the new guy as Jake other than as Jake, not new Jason. His friendship with Carly was the best. I know there was a lot of people that wanted him to be in a relationship with her, but I thought them shooing a true and caring planktonic relationship was it at its best. I sadly missed a lot of early Liz and Lucky but I did enjoy them when they got back together the seconding time? And Osmny and Carly were always great….although I may have been odd out but I liked Carly and jax together as well. XD

        Like

      5. I actually liked Carly and Jax too, but because it was so unexpected. He was always the good to Sonny’s bad. I love opposites attract. I can’t think of the new guy as Jason either, and actually I did keep watching after Steve Burton first left, but only because I kept hoping he’d come back. It’s not the first time he left, but he always found his way back to being Jason Morgan. When the new guy came on, it was like the nail in the coffin. I remember watching when Jason and Carly first met (I was pretty young, haha) and they did have something that could have been romantic. And I wanted it back then. BUT, I was always happy that even when that romance went away they never lost their love for each other as friends. In his own way, and as much as Sam hated it, he always made Carly a priority and I loved that.

        Liked by 1 person

      6. Yes! I think that’s why I enjoyed it so much as well. He was so drastically different than sonny, and you couldn’t help be drawn into it. I think at the time I also enjoyed because that meant Courtney and Nik could be together too so I didnt feel bad for Courtney XD bur yes! You said it perfectly – my feelings as well about the new Jason. I missed when they first had that hint of something but in the flashbacks you could always see the electricity between them. I could definitely see where the ship could come in. How did you feel about Jason and Elizabeth? Because that gave me some major angst XD

        Like

      7. Oh man, I loved Jason and Elizabeth but early on. When she helped him heal from the gunshot wound in her art studio. Later, I wasn’t as fond of them. But there were some good times.

        Liked by 1 person

      8. I can see it. I did like the bond that they had, but I have to say, I had so much bad angst over them. When I first started, it was Jason and Sam together and Lucky and Liz together, so I had it in my head that they couldn’t be with anyone else. And then when it all switched, it made me so upset. XD I had too many feels that I had to take a break for a bit, lol.

        Like

      9. YES. I don’t understand why and how she went with Nik. That was so random, and I was NOT a fan. I feel like the writers always got a little weird with her character and would just kind of eh, let’s have her switch to this dude even when it made no sense.

Most likely after I binge read them all, right? XD And oh man, right, I forget you don’t find out. But yes! Our empath talks emphatically helped out?

It’s okay if you never got into HP books. I don’t think I would’ve, had I seen the movies first.

I hate cheesy drama, but we all have our guilty pleasures lol. Soap Operas were yours. 😁

Snow white is so sweet and pure. But yeah, a little annoying as well. But hey you should give her another chance, she’s still fun.

Amazing post, as always. Thanks, again! You do have ONE LOVELY BLOG, so I’m not surprised that you received two nominations. 😊💙

Okay, that makes sense. I did watch the movies, so I kind of always just equated that in my head. But that could make sense why I couldn’t get into it.
Lol yes it is definitely a…interesting taste. XD
Ahahaha I will have to! I just have to get over my annoyances and listen to Ava and listen to the Princess wisdom!
And thank you so much, Ava! You’re so kind and thanks again for the nomination!
