Book Personality Challenge

I was tagged by the wonderful Rendz @ Readingwithrendz for this super fun book tag! It’s a lottttt different than any book tag I’ve done so far and it takes a look at who you are as a person and finding yourself in books. How cool is that? Well, kind of not cool if you hate the character that you’re supposed to be. Eh, this is turning kind of awkward. ANYWAY, go check out Rendz’s blog because it is fantastic!

(For a free MBTI personality test, check out Sixteen Personalities or Personality Page!) [I did the Sixteen one and it had super cool graphics)

What is your MBTI personality type?

DEFENDER PERSONALITY (ISFJ, -A/-T)

Love only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others.

Brian Tracy

The Defender personality type is quite unique (oooh, I’m ~unique~), as many of their qualities defy the definition of their individual traits. Though sensitive, Defenders have excellent analytical abilities; though reserved, they have well-developed people skills and robust social relationships; and though they are generally a conservative type, Defenders are often receptive to change and new ideas. As with so many things, people with the Defender personality type are more than the sum of their parts, and it is the way they use these strengths that defines who they are.

Defenders are true altruists, meeting kindness with kindness-in-excess and engaging the work and people they believe in with enthusiasm and generosity. There’s hardly a better type to make up such a large proportion of the population, nearly 13%. Combining the best of tradition and the desire to do good, Defenders are found in lines of work with a sense of history behind them, such as medicine, academics and charitable social work.
What is your personality like?
I’ve taken quite a few personality tests before – my high school lovedddd to use them for some odd reason – and this is by far the best one that I’ve taken. I actually really agree with my assessment, and I think it really does sound like who I am. Although, lol, to medicine for me since I literally can’t deal with anything medical. I also super agree about the weird clash of introvert and extrovert. I can be both at the same time, and usually, this super messes any of the tests up, but this test actually made sense of it!
If you were a character in a book, what would be some of you character strengths and flaws?
Strengths: well, obviously, I would defend everyone…wait, too easy? According to the website, I would provide: support, reliability and patience, imagination and observation, enthusiasm, loyalty and hard work, and good practical skills. Um, I would kill as a character in a team – just saying. Oh wait, I’m probably supposed to be humble here.
Weaknesses: humble (lol oops ^^) and shy; takes things too personally; repress their feelings; overload themselves; reluctant to change; and too altruistic. Well, drats. I guess we know the ways to defeat me if I become a super villain?
Do any authors share your personality type?
Okay, I couldn’t find any authors in my searches, although I feel like any authors that do preorder swag clearly are. XD But I’m sure there are quite a few out there. But, Beyonce is my same type, so I mean…do you really need any more?
What fictional characters share your personality type?

If you were a character in a book, what job would you have?

Well, they said I would be the doctor or nurse in the situation, but I would be running away from that. Probably the charity worker. That’s kind of what I am aiming for in real life, so probably that person trying to save the world…or at least a charity…

What personality type would complete your OTP?

Defenders are trustworthy, loyal, loving and faithful and nothing brings them more joy than the commitment of an appreciative and thriving relationship. The best matches are those who share these sensibilities, namely those who share the Observant (S) trait, with one or two opposing traits to ensure that both partners have room to grow, develop and help each other along, ’til the end of their days.

Well, that didn’t help too much. Apparently my OTP has to be observant. XD I would agree.

16230360_1155908677868931_129264939217977344_nWho are some fictional characters that would complete your OTP?

Huh. Well, since I don’t have a lot of details other than observant, I picked out one of the most recent ones I thought of.

Luke from Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall

Luke took a lot of time to think about Norah and her needs. He also was really observant about things that were going on with her and when she was going to have issues. He was definitely very committed which the commitment lover in me (obviously) loves.

This was such an interesting tag or should I say challenge? Anyway, it was so cool to finally find a personality test that actually fit! I don’t want to to tag too many people with this, but I did think of these three wonderful bloggers when I came to this part:

Birdie / Ava @ Reads, Rhythms, and Ruminations / chaoticeeverything

If you don’t feel like doing it, that’s completely fine, and if you feel like doing it, I would recommend! It was a really cool one to do.

What do you think? What do you think of the personality tests – meh or yay?

    1. It does sound so snazzy, Ava. It makes me feel like I should be a really awesome book character or superhero….and then I lol because I would be defeated so easily. But yes! I was so excited for Watson! And yay! It was a bit of a different one so I wasn’t sure if you wanted to be tagged but I’m glad it looks fun since it was so interesting. Can’t wait to see what comes up with yours! Thanks again. Ava! 😊☺️

      1. I can’t wait to take this test. I’ve never taken a personality test before, so I’m all the more curious.
You might not be good at the battlefield, but you will save lives, and that’s even better!
I’m really happy you tagged me. I’m sure I’ll have a lot of fun with it. So thanks again!

      2. I’ve taken a few before, and I have to say that the 16personalities one was super good. It’s always interesting to read about yourself in that way, so I think you find it interesting at the least but kind of fun…especially if you like doing questionnaires, lol.
        Awh, thank you! Yes!
        Yay! You definitely will 😀

There’s no harm in trying. 🙂

  2. AHHH Mandy all your answers were fantastic! You’re UNIQUE! One of a KIND! Incredible!! I mean you share a similar personality to Beyonce…That. Is. So. Cool! I don’t think being humble is weakness whatsoever , being kind and generous will not lead you to your downfall. You’d still make an incredible villain! (or hero) Lovely post! (As usual) ❤

    1. Thanks so much, Tiana! I love a lot of the tags but they seem to follow the same formula but this was just something so unique and original as you said. Super fun to delve deeper into yourself as well. Thanks so much again, Tiana. ❤

    1. It was super cool and unique! It would be cool to see how your personality fits with books as well! Was personality one of your main focuses when doing psychology? Because I can imagine how interesting it was.
P.S. Happy birthday! I saw your post earlier, but I think I forgot to comment. XD

      1. Thanks! Yeah, I’m mostly interested in personality and social psychology. I’m planning on getting my masters in clinical social work so I do counseling. 🙂

      2. Ahhhh gotcha. Those were always what I found the most interesting too, so it’s super cool that you focused on that. And that sounds like such a cool but intense career. I always am jealous of people that can go into that! 🙂

  4. The second one seems to want CC info for a “password.” Maybe I should take the one that is free online somewhere? Or retake the first one…? I think it’s cool that you shared this with us though!

    1. Oh ew. Sorry. I didn’t know about the password thing. D: But I do know there is a lot of variations of tests like this out there, so I’m sure there is one out there that might fit better. Super weird it didn’t match up!! D:

      1. I think I might have been too critical! But I’m gonna either try again or try a diff one. I know I’m not the Debater bc I am WAY too nice for that personality type! I sounded like a meanie! 😫
