Totally Should Have Book Tag

Major kudos and thanks to icebreaker694 for tagging me again in a book tag. I really appreciate it! Although this is a hard one, so I might not appreciate it at the end…;) No, thanks again and please check out her blog because it has some great content (tags, fun, and YA goodness)!

Okay, let’s start this…here goes nothing? Yes, question mark action totally needed.

NUMBER ONE: “TOTALLY SHOULD’VE GOTTEN A SEQUEL”

Okay, my answer is kind of weird? Like, can I want a sequel to have a sequel? Because I totally want Crooked Kingdom to have a sequel. I’m totally okay with the ending, but I just want moreeeeeee. I was not ready to say goodbye to this crazy group of morally questionable characters. Gimme more please, Leigh Bardugo?

NUMBER TWO: “TOTALLY SHOULD’VE GOTTEN A SPIN-OFF SERIES”

I’m not sure if anyone knows about this series, but I think it is one of the most underrated hilarious series in all of YA. It’s the My Fair Godmother series by Janette Rallison, and it is absolutely amazing. You will have some serious actual lols from these books. Most of the books have been about the girls making the wishes but not the crazy godmother. I would love to see a spin-off series based on the godmothers.

But seriously. This series is adorable, cheesy, hilarious goodness.

NUMBER THREE: “AN AUTHOR THAT TOTALLY SHOULD WRITE MORE BOOKS”

Hmmm…that’s a toughie. I would probably say Robin LaFevers. I think she also writes adult books, but I think she should totally write more YA. Grave Mercy is one my all-time favorite books, and I am absolutely shocked to see LaFevers has technically only written 3 YA books when I feel like she should have written much, much more. I would love more My Fair Assassin books, but also more general YA books.

NUMBER FOUR: “A CHARACTER THAT TOTALLY SHOULD’VE ENDED UP WITH SOMEONE ELSE”

Semi spoilers: Okay, I’ve only read book 1 of Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard, but I was totally shipping Maven with Mare. Maybe because their names were so brilliant together and their ship name…I mean, it could seriously just be Maven or Mare because they both start with MA. Anyway, I totally thought Mare had far more chemistry with Maven than she did with Cal, but then, you know, craziness happened and they obviously couldn’t be together. But still. I wanted them to be together far more.

Side note: I borrowed this from my friend and she has a thing about not ever trusting me with dust jackets (idk why since I treat them like precious, little babies), so I never really got to to see this cover. It’s super pretty, though.

NUMBER FIVE: “TOTALLY SHOULD’VE ENDED DIFFERENTLY”

Okay, The Darkest Corners by Kara Thomas was such a good mystery read. I would definitely recommend this book looking for a good one, and I mean, I actually flew this book without it having any romance – not even a drop! Le gasp, me, indeed. However, the end…the end got a little crazy. Alright, kind of a lot of crazy. Like, I had to go back a few pages to make sure that I actually read it right. I wish it would have ended a little more believable than it did.

NUMBER SIX: “TOTALLY SHOULD’VE HAD A MOVIE FRANCHISE”

The Lunar Chronicles all the way. Not even a question. I’m forever crossing my fingers this happens.

NUMBER SEVEN: “TOTALLY SHOULD’VE HAD ONLY ONE POINT OF VIEW”

Okay, the House of Night series – I read it far longer than ever was supposed to be necessary. Due to this problem, they started putting in narrations that had no business being in there. Did I really care about bird-man’s point of view in book 6? NO! I DID NOT CARE. There were just too many narrations going on in this series when it really could have just done with one or maybe two.

NUMBER EIGHT: “TOTALLY SHOULD’VE HAD A COVER CHANGE”

There really isn’t anything wrong with this cover – I like it well enough although it is a bit boring. The issue is that it really has nothing to do with this book. It seems super light and eh, but this book really packs an emotional punch and got my feelings on overdrive – which I totally didn’t expect from the cover. I totally recommend this book; although, even I was hesitant to pick it up with this eh cover.

NUMBER NINE: “TOTALLY SHOULD’VE KEPT THE ORIGINAL COVERS”

Okay, the Maximum Ride series has, like, a million different covers, and I actually had to dig in Goodreads to find this specific cover. This is the one that I knew I had read when it first came out, and I remember loving this edition. The other one? They just don’t seem to have the same feel to it as the other ones do.

NUMBER TEN: “TOTALLY SHOULD’VE STOPPED AT BOOK ONE”

Deadly Little Secret by Laurie Faria Stolarz was one of my favorite books back in the day…and then I tried to read the second one and everything was just ruined. It easily could have been a standalone and would have been fine if it was. However, reading the ltitle bit of the second book kind of ruined it for me and now I kind of forget about this book because of that.

Okay, time to play tag! Since I didn’t get to do my nomination’s in threes yesterday, I’m back to doing it again. And since three people commented on my post yesterday, I shall tag you – I know, I know, easy way out but my brain is tired again.

Seeing as I didn’t tag a lot of people, please feel free to do it yourself! I’m super interested in seeing what everyone can come up with since it was super hard to do! If you decide to do it, please link below so I can check it out! 😀

  1. Thanks so much for the nomination! I loved your answers. I ship Mare and Maven too! And even I’ve only read book 1 of red Queen.
Lunar Chronicles totally should have a Movie Adaptation.
    Thanks again.

  2. Thank you for tagging me! This tag is going to be very interesting to put together, but I am up for the challenge!

I just recently read red queen, but I do like Mare with Cal. Red Queen was such an emotional roller coaster for me.

    1. It is a difficult one, but you got this as you said!

I think I would have definitely liked him more if I wasn’t so set on Maven. I’m told I will definitely love him by the second book, so I have hope! But that book was so much twistier than I thought! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

    1. It really is such a fun tag to do! I would definitely recommend. 🙂 I thought it was optioned, too, but then I never saw anything further about it, so I thought I may have naturally made it up. XD you give me hope though!
